Everything about this situation was foreign to Malak. Three days ago he had been at home with his desert dwelling tribe, where women were quiet and reserved, and no one dared to contradict him. He was the top of the pecking order and everyone was below him, that was how he had been taught. He had left home, fleeing from circumstances that had been unhappy with. It went against his teachings, but he had found that he simply could not stand the idea of having his decisions made for him.
Now here he was, confronted by a fiery woman who had just struck him forcibly. Malak's instincts reacted before his brain could catch up, unsheathing his scimitar and brandishing it before him, his eyes sparkling with anger. How dare she strike him?! How dare she...but wait, he managed to tell himself. The situation required more studying. This was not his homeland, and he needed to remember that.
"That is precisely what I was suggesting," he replied plainly, lowering his weapon slightly, "Women in my homeland do not do anything without permission from their betters." He took a moment after he spoke to take in her appearance. The wings were a shock, something he hadn't noticed while her hand had been at his throat. He had heard of such magical beings, but there were rarely to be found in the desert.

The woman crossed her arms over her chest, studying you carefully. She chose her next words cautiously, not paying any mind to the weapon in your hands. "And what makes you any better than me?" she asked quietly, her eyes narrowed slightly.

Malak continued to study the woman in front of him. She was clearly tenacious, fearless, and headstrong. In other words the polar opposite of every other woman he had ever met in his life. It made him uncomfortable, it made him rather irritated, but there was a small part of him that was also rather intrigued.
"I truly don't have an answer to that," he told her, "It is simply what I was told and how I was taught. Women are less worthy than men in every respect."

She scoffed at your reply. She was clearly unamused with you thus far. "A woman has every bit of right that a man does. Women can do just as much as a man can, and then some. If you can provide me with some solid proof that I am lesser than you, then perhaps I will amend my point," she told you icily.
