She sighed. "Yeah, I know. I just wish the world would just hurry up and fix itself, ya know?" Alaska asked, talking more to herself than to Victor

Maveric smiled. "Figured so."

Victor nodded in understanding, " Well, if it makes it any better.. I think it might soon. But who knows. "

" It was funny really.. I looked everywhere and nothing."

"I think you just jinxed us," Alaska said. "Now it's never gonna happen," she said jokingly. Well, she hoped that in the future she would look back and laugh

"That's how most buildings are now." Maveric shrugged. It was true, most of the shops and bakeries and things like that were empty now

" Ah well we'll wait and see. "

Alaska shook her head, sill believing that Victor had just jinxed the whole world. "Yeah, I guess."

"So what brought you into this part of town?" He felt like he had already asked that

" If it doesn't, I will get us out of the US then, take us somewhere else. "

" The country is gone to heck, remember? "

"How? All the ferries have been down, I'm sure all the motor boats are in pieces and I'm pretty sure we will get lost in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle if either of us tries to take a rowboat."

"Yeah, but why'd you choose this part of the city?"

Victor smirked and said with a laugh " I will take ya to Mexico then! "

" Have you seen the rest of it? "

Alaska was a little confused, as she was still being pessimistic and wasn't sure what Mexico had anything to do with anything. "Are you sure Mexico isn't worse off than we are?"

Mav shook his head. "Nope. I'm guessing that it's not too pretty, huh?"

" I highly doubt it, and if not Mexico Canada as it is farther from the spill. "
