Alaska burst into tears, shaking with every sob. She could just see that happening to the twins and the much too possible death of Maria. She didn't know how to protect herself yet, and Alaska couldn't really help her much anymore. Alaska continued to cry, not caring about much at the moment

Maveric studied the girl. He hesitantly said, "Okay. Where did you come from?"

Victor slowly came to, waking up to the sounds of Alaska crying. He shot up, and quickly put his arm around her. He didn't dare say a single word, it would just make this worse for her. Instead he just hummed a small song, rocking her in small movements side to side, running his fingers through her hair in the gentlest of movements.


" The country, I retreated to the city recently. "

"Wh-what if neither of the twins survives?" She asked, her head in her hands. "What about Maria? What if she gets taken by one of the zombies because I can't...I can't really help fight much, and what if me not fighting makes the difference between Maria's life and her death? What if all the kids die?" She asked, and started to sob again

"The country isn't a pretty place to be right now. I was in the country some time ago, when the whole thing started, and even then it got pretty bad in just a few days. What's your name?" Maveric asked, studying his spear

Victor held her close, speaking in a reassuring tone. " They will both survive, and Maria has a knife to protect herself.. If you really want to, she can even move into one of our rooms and we can protect her at night. We can make a trip here every week to see if the twins are healthy to insure they will be alright, and when they are born Maria will move into there room and I will guard them each night.. Our children will be alright darlin' "

" My name is Ava, and who are you kind stranger? "

Alaska's breath hitched quite a few times as she tried to calm down. She nodded, but she just couldn't get rid of the thought that was at the edge of her consciousness, and that was that at least one of her children wasn't going to make it, and her anxiety kept getting the best of her, whether she showed it or not.

Maveric had known an Ava back at school, and he couldn't remember what had happened to her. "My name is Maveric, and this is Rose."

( I want to make this all worse.. Remember how Victor specifically wanted a son? )

Victor gently nuzzled her neck, still hugging her. " Hey.. it will be alright. I promise.. "

" Nice to meet you, I knew a Maveric.. He kind of up and left. " Rose seemed wary of her.

(You're not planning to kill the son, are you...?)
Alaska looked him in the eyes. "Will it really, though? Maybe all you try to do isn't enough. Maybe something bad is gonna happen and there's nothing you can do about it."

Maveric wouldn't told Ava that he knew an Ava but he decided against it from the look on Rose's face

( Yes, Yes I am indeed. 1 day after he is born in Victors arms. but that's a maybe )

" Well I know it won't, even in a world like this.. It will be okay. "


" So uh.. why'd you help me? "

(Yikes...that would be hard on just about everyone...But it could be fun though :3)

Alaska just watched him, hoping that he was right. That was all she had at the moment. Hope

Mav shrugged. "Rose saw you and figured you needed help."

( Yeah.. but I might not due that one.. because Alaska is already losing Victoria )

Victor smiled softly, kissing Alaska's forehead and getting to his knees to his her stomach, resting his forehead against the area. " You, and they, will be alright.. "

" Oh, thank you then Rose. " Rose only nodded.
