Aleria never feinted to jab as he hoped, but she nearly escaped a couple times. He could see the coast in site and taste the silt in the water. If he played this out another half hour he could prove his dominance and set this filly straight. Unfortunately, time ran out with the setting sun!
"Aaa! What are these things?!?!!"
His heart skipped a beat at the thought of leaving Kanakwella undefended! His fin wings and tail pushed him away from Aleria to give him space. He had something to say to her but now wasn't the time for words anymore. He stared in the direction of the scream and took command on instinct. "Come on!" he yelled to Aleria and sped off. He led the way down into the depths, not knowing if she would follow him or not. Making for the surface and breaching was faster, but also a lot more noisy and one or two kelparie wasn't going to scare the water sprites away. They needed reinforcements that could only be found in the deep coming to the surface. he would have to negotiate with the sylvorpa.
No sooner had he started to descend over the shelf than he nearly swam headlong into a full brood of them. In a trice he spread out his fins and flagged them, the recognized sign of truce to parlay in the lake. They outnumbered him by almost a hundred each and had they slain him no one would notice him missing.
"You are a long way from your crypt, prince." The Sylvorpan Lord said with a jeer in his voice.
"Aye," Mermydon replied, "but despite our differences our common for has descended upon an innocent near shore and I would ask for your aid as you have asked of mine in the past."
The Sylvorpan Lord chuckled calmly. "There are no innocent kelparie. I know that she is here and that with her here you are no longer alone. What will you bargain for her life?"
"I haven't much to offer save for free rein for a fortnight in the ruins." He offered. "Since the sea worms are in polyp, your realm could rest easy for a month or more."
The Sylvorpan Lord pondered it for a respectful amount of time, but Mermydon knew that inwardly he was ready to leap out of his skin to agree. "We have an accord, your highness."
"Alright, this is what I need you and yours to do..."
The sprites were mercilessly tormenting Kanakwella, scratching and biting her now to continuing to manipulate this inexperienced filly into fear and panic, but never to the point of passing out. Oh no that would never do! Not when her emotional state was feeding and strengthening their fighters in the splash zone.
They had managed to strike and damage some of the ryori's energy spheres and unlike the party, they could switch out with fresh sprites, which they did often to press the attack. The could smell blood in the vicinity and the sweat and exhaustion from their adversaries. Very soon they would be able to feast upon all of them if they could keep them away from the berm...

Grim Rose cried out in pain as one of the creatures managed to claw her spine and then destroy her energy orbs. The other Ryori rushed to her trying to fend them off as best as they could but their efforts were weaker and more sluggish.

(I am so sorry I tried to get my part in I had a long night with some problems and today I had music lesson after lesson so its been packed have not been able to post my rp reply)
Aleria Avoided some of Myrmydons hits but he landed a fair amount of them, she observed his movements. Then she swam down then darted upwards pointing her horn at his back fins, not quit hitting her target . Any other way she landed a few blows with her hooves and her tail.
Then she heard Kanakwella's words and fallowed him to a regal looking Sylvorpa she could tell by the way they interacted that he had an place of power.

The plans Mermydon had in mind against the water sprites were pretty rudimentary submarine tactics, they had to be since their temporary alliance had no time to discuss details and have to put it all together on the fly. They now outnumbered the sprites by at least two to one. Maybe not the greatest difference against mystical monsters, but with the element of surprise on their side, he and the Sylvorpan Lord were confident they could turn the tide of the conflict, at least long enough to save their comrades. Along the way, one of the sylvorpans returned a kelp leaf that Mermydon loaned him, it was wrapped up with some sort of oozing silt that clung mightily to the leaf blades.
"Everyone understands their part, yes, because there won't be time for questions after we push the charge? Aleria, your guard contingent and myself will work to build up Aleria's water vortex big enough to dirupt the sprites ability to tidal wave our comrades. While you, milord, and your remaining kingdom will take those scaly nightmares from below and behind into the deep and make worm food out of them if you can. With that any remaining sylvorpans willing to volunteer can assist Aleria and myself with herding our comrades over the berm where the water sprites can do them no further harm."
Aleria's ability was very important to the plan. She was the only one that knew how to do it and the others, including Mermydon would have to learn what to do under her guidance. "For someone who has no future," Mermydon mentioned in private before the charge, "you certainly have more to offer than just another generation of foals." He had started leading their charge before she could really reply, but he hoped she would wish to have her say to him later, seeing as they had some unfinished business.
The end was getting close and the fishheads were smiling with menacing glee at the sight. The ryori were well weakened, Kanakwella was about to the point of exhaustion such that her voice had become hoarse and any kicking and bucking was barely effective. In the hysterics, she managed to get too far up the beach to draw any water to swish and splash her tormentors away with.
Their only remaining threat was Heroine it seemed, because her wings were not yet waterlogged enough to keep her from flight; which they would very soon correct. The party could hear the funny chanting out in the water, which sounded gargled ad incomprehensible to many except the most gifted water aficionados. Soon they would have a tidal wave big enough to drop over top of the winged zolnixi and they would all move in for a feast of still living flesh! There was a long pause, then confusions and stark surprise! There gigantic wave barely washed over their tiny heads!?!?
One foolish soul that had been tomenting the princess, turned around and gasped with surprise before the water was forced out of his gills from a Parrot Fish Kelparie ramming head first into the little cretin and sending it flying over the berm screaming! Their cohort out in the lake were vanishing beneath the wave faster than they had materialized and surfacing in their place came another kelparie followed by a handful of toughened sylvorpa fighters.
((Feel free to insert your PC's involvement with sprite clean up here!.. Lol.))
Mermydon again took command on instinct after dispatching another of Kanakwella's tormentors. "Get our comrades across the berm and onto the grasslands quickly!" He bent down and started forcing his head underneath Kanakwella's nymph-like torso. "Please excuse my imputence, milady." He said as he rolled her onto his shoulders and barrel and hefted her up to carry over the high tide line and off of the sand. He was surprised at how light she was and truly began to wonder how young she must really be?
As they steadily took their overlander comrades over the berm-line, the remaining water sprites started losing interest in them. Most of them spit and hurled curses at them, not daring to show them how quickly their magic failed beyond the waterline.
On dry ground the kelparie were safe, but now at the mercy of the sylvorpa that helped them and the overlanders they had been with. If they harbored any ill will they might get a fight from them but it would be a short battle. Mermydon waited for Heroine to come check on her cousin, who was now resting againsy Mermydon's left side he then produced the kelp leaf he had gotten from the sylvorpa, which had been carefully stuffed in his breastplate.
"Here, give this poltice to that leveret with the bold words," he told her, "The earth magic within will hasten her healing." He didn't pretend to understand what microbes or fungi were possessed in the scrub mud, he just knew they prevented infection and quickened the healing process. "I am sorry that I left. I should've expected them to show up under the shadow of the great cliff." He dared to place his wing over the princess's resting form as though she was his to console. But he too was tired, and slowly his head began to droop. There wasn't much else he could do until the shallows were safe again.

((Lauren0879, don't let this post disrupt anything you intended to post from my last entry.))
Mermydon opened his eyes a little, if she kept moaning like this neither of them would get any rest. "Let me see?" He asked Kanakwella, hoping that she would hold still. She had indeed been bitten in many places along her shoulders and back and the bacteria from the water sprites, was completely foreign to her immune system; unlike Mermydon, Aleria and the others. "Aleria, could you come help me when you get a moment? She's been bitten." He started licking her wounds and hoped Aleria would come and help reach the areas he couldn't so he wouldn't have to shift from where he lay too much. The two of them would likely have some stomach aches in the morning, but that was far better than Kanakwella was likely to have.
He started to explain about the creatures whenever he paused from licking at one of her injuries. "We call them water sprites." He began. "Minion of an elemental who called itself Vorpar. Though it was vanquished, these creatures remain a remnant to his passing. I think that will be enough about those for now princess. And you are a princess. Those aloe and frankinsense salt scents in your mane come from a rather expensive apothecary that only the royal families can afford." He stole a moment to stick his nostrils into her watery like mane and inhale deeply many times. My dam loved those particular fragrances also." He confessed. When he lifted his head he looked her in the eye and told her. Lay here against me and get some sleep. So long as you remain in contact against this living kelp armor your wounds will heal much faster." Though it sounded to good to be true, his eyes told her that he was sincere in his statement.
Once Kanakwella did as she was bidden, he looked to Aleria. "You have my gratitude for your help. You may rest over here if you wish?" He offered, raising up his other fin wing. "It isn't much but I imagine two such vortices in one day can really let the spunk out of a filly." (Whichever way Aleria chooses shouldn't have an effect on this next one)
He looked over at Heroine to see if she was going to aide the bulbori with the poultice he had given her. While at the same time looking to see how she was responding to him. He suspected that she knew more about Kanakwella's history and station than she had let on up until now. Further he has contacted her intimately these three times now and has made no effort to call him out for not proving his colors.

Diego~Adult: 7 years (25 years in species)~ Canyon in Dessert
"I as well would say that." the stallion said looking out the cave door. The sand was blinding it was almost as if it was like the snow of the north. He had never actually seen the snow, but many of cuento or stories were told to him about it. He would like to see it sometime but sadly he was probably never going to be able to. With that he again lay his head down in an attempt to get some sleep though same as before his head protested too much to let him do so. With a sigh he raise his throbbing head and looked at the nixi. "You know you are perhaps one of the nicest predators I have met so far. I thank you for that."
