Rose just hugged Maveric, trembling at his touch. " It's fine... " She said in a small voice, not thinking this was fine whatsoever.


Victor sighed " I think I have a guess. "

"No, it's not. It's my fault, and I don't really have a way of making it up to you." He might have said something a guy might say if the situation wasn't so serious

It took a moment for Alaska to realize what was going on, and once she did she said, "Oooohhhh."

Rose at this point was unable to speak, the pain and grief over the reality of what she had done to her child setting in now. She didn't speak at all, just crying softly holding Maveric tightly, her shoulders trebling ever so often. She only blamed herself for this, for she had decided to not wait.


" I shoulda told her something earlier.. "

"God, I'm sorry, Rose..." He hugged her close, feeling awful for what he had done. "I...It wasn't your fault. It was mine. I'm so sorry..."

Alaska would have said that it wasn't Victor's fault, but that probably would've hurt Rose more than she was already hurting, so instead, she said, "Yeah."

" No it is my fault, I made the choice, I did this to myself.. I could of chose differently. " Rose said sadly, she hurt inside.

Victor sighed, putting his arm around Alaska. " Well... I am glad that at least you never even thought of... " His voice cracked, " o-of that.. "

"Yeah, you could've chosen to kill yourself. I would've...I'm not sure what I would've done if it was actually true and you died. I'm just glad you're still here."

"Well I didn't think that it was gonna kill me. Two whole different scenarios. And...I did think about it." She said. She quickly added, "but it was only brief. I swear."

" I am glad I am here with you too, I wouldn't want to leave you alone with a child.. "

Victor looked a little saddened but it was alright to him, " It's okay I understand, but I am still glad you decided otherwise. I am just happy, and I just hope that everything goes smoothly. "

Maveric laughed. "I probably would've donated it," he said, completely joking. "Given it to David or someone. Mrs. Heart could raise another child."

"Yeah, me too. It's so scary just to think about..." A shudder ran up Alaska's spine. "What if I die? Or the kid dies? What then?" Alaska started freaking out again even though it would be a while before she did give birth. Hopefully. "What if the baby is a preemie and then dies?"

Rose looked very hurt by that, taking her seriously.

Victor sighed with a small smile, " You and out child will be completely fine. We just need to get everything we need, Maveric is a doctor and my mother would know how to help and my younger brother was presumed dead at birth but my mom due to quick thinking saved him. So even if things go badly, the child will be fine and so will you. "

Maveric mentally scolded himself. "That's not what I meant. I was joking. Promise. I would never get rid of our kid."

"Haha! So you admit there is a chance that things will go bad!" Alaska said, stressing out. "And what if neither Maveric or your mom is here to help?! What then? Or, what if the kid lives but gets sick and dies from the sickness? Kind of like what I thought happened to Maria!"
