Maveric nodded. "I'm glad you made it out alive. Is there even anything in the box?" Lani looked past Victor and saw a familiar face..."Emma!" She exclaimed. She remembered that she had Roger in her arms. She really wanted to go see Emma. The dog turned to her and she gasped. That wasn't Emma, that was zombie Emma.

Victor nodded " yeah there was a few cans, but we need a good knife or can opener for them... ' he said with a sigh. He looked to were Lani was looking and stepped back a bit.' Oh my.. a...a Zombie dog. " He said looking at what was once Lani's pet. He seemed less scared now and looked around to see if there was anything he could use to defend himself.. still nothing. " What do we do about.. that? "

"Here, hold Roger," Lani said. "Lani..." Maveric said, warning her. Lani put Roger on top of the box and slowly approached Emma. Emma growled at her. "Hey, Emma. It's me, remember?" Emma bore her teeth, saliva dripping from her mouth onto the floor. "Lani!" Maveric said, more urgent. "If you're going to approach her, take this." He handed her the spear. She took it, but she didn't have it at the ready.

Victor watched but felt a change inside himself, he wouldn't be letting Lani get hurt. He looked as if he were ready to lunge at Emma and tackle the dog down if he so needed to, how strong could a dog really be even like this? He watched and looked ready to fly into action if he so needed to, he saw this as nothing more then a threat and by the look in his eyes you could tell that is all he saw.

Lani ignored Maveric and called to Emma. Emma didn't respond, just kept growling, then tensed up and sprang. Lani had held the spear just right on accident and it went right through the dog. Emma fell back, whining. It broke Lani's heart to hear her whine like that. The whining slowly got quieter until it ceased to silence. Lani was silent for a moment, then burst into tears. "Emma, I'm so sorry...I-I didn't mean to, I swear."

Victor with not a second thought placed the box down with Roger- who just stayed there- and went towards the body of the now dead dog. He looked it over, checking it's eyes and to see if it was breathing at all. As he checked he noticed clear signs that the dog had died long before Lani had 'killed' it and it had just turned. he looked to Lani with a look of sorrow in his hazel eyes. " I am sorry Lani she had turned long before you had killed her.. " He said trying to stop whatever guilt she was feeling right now. he felt horrible for her and he knew this would effect her for awhile. If he had to kill Roger god only knew what he would of done. He didn't know if he should hug her so he just stood nearby to her.

Lani pulled her knees to her chest, and she buried her face into her knees. Her shoulders were shaking, and her crying was silent. If she hadn't just 'killed' her dog, it would've been hard to tell if she was laughing or crying. Maveric put a hand on her shoulder. He knew he shouldn't try to make it better because if you try to make it better at a time like this, it'll just make it worse.

He watched them silently and walked over to Lani, kneeling in front of her. " Lani it ain't your fault. I bet she was in a lot of pain like that. I have seen em' turn. We are doin' em a favor putting them out of there misery.If we kill them they get to go to a better place then this. " His voice was soft and sweet, a comforting tone drifting into his voice as well. " She probably thanked you in her own way. "

Kiro watched from afar in silence
Though he was a cat person, he never likes to lose a pet, espically a beloved pet

Lani lifted her head and said, "Yeah, but what if there's a cure that someone's found that could fix them? I've just killed Emma when I could've had her saved!" She used the back of her good hand to wipe tears away.
