Hi I just started a couple days ago. I actually didnt realize there was a forum until now lol. I love pet games especially collection and breeding games. Im not really sure what Im doing yet so any advice is appreciated!

I've been playing for roughly 2 years now so I am pretty sure I know my way around (then again, I am terrible with directions)
Before we get started, what species is your favorite so far? I'd like to give you a welcome gift!
It's basically tradition to give out gifts to new players, especially pets. It shows we care about our community and players. (I received a few gifts when I first joined)
The first thing you need to know is that there are sooooo many pets in-game, and it's kinda overpopulated. You can help this issue by buying and releasing cheap pets on advanced search. You can also help by turning auto-release on in your hatchery, which will release any un-named pets. This way you can sell pets for a limited time and filter out the ones you don't really want to keep, or don't have room for.
Releasing is a great way to help the game, although a lot of people are against it. (even though releasers are doing nothing wrong) Releasing a pet simply removes their data from the game, and makes it so you cannot interact with them. They won't appear in your stables, but you can always get them back for 50 diamonds.
As for actual game advice, don't use the healers you come across in zones, or in the towns. They will only take large amounts of gold and leave you broke. Instead, buy potions and heal your pets that way, or remove them from your party, they'll heal automatically.
Make sure you use the right gear for the right element, certain elements use certain gear so pay attention to the stat boosts the gear gives your pet, and which stats are highest already.
As soon as your able to, you should be unlocking your second and third party slot. It costs quite a bit of gold, but it's a one-time payment, and it will only help you progress.
Participating in festivals is a great way of getting gold, as you can find special chests with large amounts of gold, as well as fest items you can either use, or sell for more gold. (gold is the lifeforce of the game lol)
Another good way of getting gold is to send pets on missions, if they succeed in the mission, it will not only give you currency, but it will also give you gear, and reputation in the towns.
There's also things called raids, which will appear randomly at the top of the screen. It will say something like "A wave of [enemy type] bandits are attacking [town or area]" followed by a number. By going to that area, you can fight the enemies and help stop the raid. Eventually you'll fight a final boss, that is much stronger than the other enemies. Even if you lose the final fight, you'll still be given a reward for participating in the raid. These rewards include gear, gold, potions, and badges. (I love raids, they're fun :D)

Random Tips:
Don't use Healers. They are a complete waste of money. After all, your pets revive themselves after 30 minutes or so. (I think. I haven't had my pets need to revive in a loooooong time)
Don't buy potions from the marketplace; you can get them for free from missions (More below)
Buy cheap high-leveled pets for missions (Once again, more below) so that you have a 99.9% chance of not failing.
Do missions. Guide here. Missions are an easy way to get gold and free stuff without much effort. (If clicking a few buttons even counts as an effort) It becomes easier with high-level pets, so get a few off of Advanced Search. At the moment, there are quite a few cheap level 70 pets on right now! Just put all of their proficiency points in one thing (For example Health), name the pet (Ex: Health if you put all proficiency points in health), and send it on missions according to it's highest stat! (Ex: Send your health pet on missions with the stat labeled: Health)
Nurture pets until you get 1,000 scales (or more if you want!) and then buy a lesser pet dye. Sell it on the broker and then you can earn a lot of gold easily. They generally sell very quickly and for a high amount on the trade broker. You can also earn essences from nurturing (which enable you to generate a pet) that you can sell or use. During festivals, you can also earn some festival currency!
Don't breed unless you're breeding two themed pets (of the same theme!), two high statted pets, etc. Most pets don't sell if they are dishwater pets. (Pets that have little traits, low stats, ugly, or a combination of above) Also, try to price over 500 because The Releasers of Sylestia generally release anything for sale under 500g because they're trying to help the economy and make pets worth more again. (Loooooooong story...)
I'm open to giving away pets if you want, so just ask! I don't bite! (That's impossible to do virtually anyway....)

Thank you both! And These have been SO helpful. I was using the healers and didnt even realize how much it was costing.
Again to anyone who reads this I am open to friend requests. I really enjoy having others to talk to and everything.
If anyone else has other tips or just wants to say hi, Id enjoy it.

Welcome to Sylestia! It's always great to see new faces, fun lil' Tip: coming is the Winter festival (Sylestia has fune events like this for the seasons, as well as holidays and the like!) So keep an eye on the Official games forum for games like crossword puzzles, art contests and such!

~My Random Advice~
How to get gold quickly and not spend it that much?
. DON'T use healers. They are truly scammers. NEVER use them. I repeat, NEVER NEVER NEVER use them.
. Missions. I know it's a bit boring waiting for them, but they're a great way to level up pets and earn a bit of gold.
. Fests! Fests is a pretty easy way to make gold. Sell all of your brewing agents on the trade broker- you'll make a lot!
. Quests. Quests are also a pretty easy way to make gold.
. Pet Dyes! A very easy way is to get 1000 scales, buy a pet dye, and sell it on the trade broker. They're still pretty popular.
. The Lost Grove. Yes, yes I know that's far off since you're a newer player. But you do get some gold from the lost grove.
I'm not that good at gold advice, this is a good guide, though old.
How do I get a cool looking avatar?
I don't really know why I put this here, but when I was new, I was always jealous of other people's avatars.. I was stuck with the defaults, the "mundane quality" ones. Anyways, HUNT the forums for giveaways of avi items, ask older players how to get avi items, I don't have that much advice.
How do I get a good party or team?
You need max stats! It's simple to get max stats, really. Xavion breeds max stats for 2 pet dyes! Check out their stables.

How do I used the advanced search for pets for sale? Im only seeing it for players? Sorry its probably a dumb question but Ive looked and Im not seeing it lol
