my husband had rats growing up, and he wants another one. he can have one but I don't expect to participate... @w@;;

I think rats are alright as long as they arent the ones inthe backyard that keep destroying everything (thanks a lot local wildlife, im sure us and the neighbors love catching you guys and your squirrelly neighbors....).
Other then that rats are pretty cute. (Thanks to the Rats of NIMH for that XD)

Rats are the BEST small pet ever!!! I have had 6 so far and each pair of females are crazy in their own ways. The current batch that I have, one grunts like a pig and the other is scared of everything. They are a great pet for small kids (bc hamsters bite and pee a lot) and just fun to have in general. I highly recommend a pet rat (most likely get 2 or more bc they want to be with a friend otherwise they get rly lonely) for anyone that wants a small animal that is crazy and wants to cuddle at the same time.
*Edit* As I was writing this, my two rats were wrestling on my bed and squeaking XD

Omg same. Mine love drinking water and they just love to wrestle. So all I hear at night is the metal ball rattling from the waterbottle, squeaking, and the loud crashing of furry bodies against every part of their metal cage XD
