I notice that each year we get some new colours of old event wardrobe items during festivals, and I really miss the chance to colour our own monthly items. So, why not crowdsource your repeat wardrobe bosses with a chance for your artistic players to get more involved?
For each seasonal festival, you could choose an outfit from the previous year and give us the lineart and template to colour in, then post our entries like we would any other suggestion contest. I know it would probably be a lot of work to set up on your end, but I feel it could be a great way to get a different perspective and new vision on existing styles.

I miss those chances too! It'd be awesome to crowdsource and create player events using the avatar art that we already have. So many items, and I love the idea of new recolors of older items! (I didn't notice until lately that there weren't many new 2020 spring festival items because they were recolors of the 2019 items.)
Maybe of a contest pool, there can be a set number of designs that the admins choose, and maybe some that can be fan-picked by users? That can make use of the community poll feature too!
If needed, I think there's tutorials laying around for how to recolor items, and I'm sure custom recolor users can revamp them if needed to be accessible to newbies and oldbies.
In terms of programs, I believe:
- People have used Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI, and a few others to recolor
- FireAlpaca on PC is free to download, and I think others have used it to recolor things
- on mobile, MediBang is a free app I've used on Android to recolor PSDs, I'll have to check for iOS (I don't use an iPhone but I have access to an iPad to check the Apple Store for app alternatives)
I think being able to reuse old content and the creativity of users to fuel the site is a great way to get the community involved (both artists to contribute content, and the community at large to be part of the deciding process), while trying to free up time to work on other content.

Massive support! Sadly I missed out on any custom items, and while they are a lot of work both for players and staff, I believe Krin could come up with some ingenious plan to not make it so confusing. And like Flute said, voting on recolors would make use of the poll feature. (and possibly, Krin could find more artists this way xD)
