I've never been very good or into battling but I do want to participate more in events.
I have this max stat team I want to get to level 59 but I have no idea what armor I need to use for them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. both rarity and level of an equip make a difference, as well as if it's a grove or non-grove equip

Tank pets want Agi, Attackers want Dex
Physical elements want Strength equips, Magical want Intelligence

so for non-grove equips
Assassin is Strength and Agility > goes on earth and water tanks
Myrmidon is Strength and Dexterity > air attackers
Illusionist is Intelligence and Agility > shadow tanks, sometimes light healers
Evoker is Intelligence and Dexterity > fire attackers and light healers

Disciple is more a placeholder
Arcanist is like. intelligence mission pets
Ravager is str mission pets.

grove equips (all lv60, better than pretty much any and all non-grove stuff. The rare (exotic) grove equips are about the same strength as lv70 legendary non-grove equips)
Lightbringer > if you happen to be running a light tank. Could put one or two on a light healer?
Pyromancer > fire attackers and light healers
Reaver > shadow tanks
Storm Caller > air attackers
Tidal Lord > water and earth tanks
Warden > earth and water tanks
