No, you only lose one after you choose to give a treat to a Sylesti. And a ditch is just a hole in the grass lol.

Do you fight or try to escape?

I snatch my whip and unravel it, getting into a defensive position. Lady Odette covered my back and snarled menacingly at the masked group.
Knowing Lady Odette would warn me of any danger and, that she was keeping the guys behind me at bay.
I quickly scan my surroundings trying to see if there any chance of escape.

You can see a small gap that two people had left in between them. But Lady Odette lets put a pained yelp, and you realize that they've overwhelmed her. They seize your moment of confusion, and one of them knocks you out, with the hilt of their knife.
Once you have regained consciousness, you find yourself in a strange room. You can hear voices from next door.
Do you try to eavesdrop, try to escape, or pretend you are still unconscious?

Hearing voices in the next room, I stay still and as quiet as possible. Straining to hear what is being said, if I manage to hear anything it might give me a clue why I'm hear or how to escape.
