Hello here is a thread dedicated to catching Tom the Turkey.

We know that there is a cooldown period based on time. My best estimate is that it's 15 minutes long.

Also Krin states that there is a point to the descriptions.

I will add information here as it becomes available Please feel free to add to this with what you've found and what you think.
We believe that it is still random, but you will have a better chance if you know which button to choose.


So we have descriptions before and after:

I just got an elusive turkey, and tried to grab him.
Here's what I got:

You attempt to grab Tom the Turkey,
but are not even close to catching him.

Trap DID work on Elusive Tom. Got a Philter, so it does work :p

I can confirm that trap works on elusive...but I forget the message i got.

Tom will show up anywhere on the page, even where you can't see, so if you just refresh a lot and don't scroll down you might miss him.

Refreshing a lot isn't necessary since he's on a time based cooldown (which Krin confirms here ), not a page click one I'm just not sure what the time is. It is either 15 minutes or an hour. >_>

I think if you miss him you have to wait another 15 minutes (or whatever his cooldown is) until you can find him again. But I'm not positive on that.

Caught Clever Tom by grabbing him (on this thread's advice) and got this message:

"You caught Tom the Turkey! As a result,
he has bribed you with the following item:

[Lesser Philter of Vigor]"

Caught a clever Tom using grab. Got "brown turkey feathers" from it.

I just caught Elusive Tom using trap, and got a [Lesser Philter of Acumen] for my troubles. Trap definitely seems to be the answer to catching Elusive Tom, it's just that it isn't 100%.

So far, I've successfully used Trap on Elusive Turkey and that me a Philter of Nimbleness, Precision, and Acumen.

Successes: 3/5

Ok, more data. I saw one Tom at 4:05pm PST, and another at 4:22pm PST. So I'd say the 15 minute cooldown sounds accurate.
