Open: Game Theory
Collab between me and Lark

In the far future of 3011, the world is dominated by technology, as one might expect. Almost everything can be done by one click of a button, but best of all is the augmented reality. The system ran smoothly connecting the real world with the virtual almost seamlessly. Merging reality with virtuality, almost everything you did physically in real life had some effect on the virtual world, and vice versa, from cutting sandwiches with a slice of the hand to changing the screen-walls of your bedroom to reflect the real-life night sky.
All public knowledge can be accessed in milliseconds. And almost all private knowledge can be accessed by the most skilled hackers, who found themselves in possession of more and more power as technology expanded.
Best of all was the Game Theory that came with it. A popular source of entertainment in this utopian world, Game Theory was the use of logic and gameplay to battle those around them. The winner of many games found themselves in the highest regards. The better you became the larger your entourage. Your entourage were less-skilled players who would do anything for your approval.

But amidst this virtual utopia, a mysterious problem has appeared. A disease, with no record in history, has bypassed the highly advanced medical field and struck, silent and deadly. Normal people suddenly start going insane. Next, they turned into an almost translucent version of themselves, delirious. And finally, they flopped and died. And were taken away for research into a way to stop the disease.
Some said it was a terrible side effect, born of the advancements in technology, something man had brought upon itself. Others said it someone was behind it and had chosen now to strike. And still others believed it was a curse from the gods long forgotten in light of the technological miracles.
Not only that people have been vanishing without a trace. Here one day, gone the next. No one says a word about their disappearance, but the looming presence that you would be the next to disappear lingers in the air. The government does not acknowledge the disappearance shrugging it off as maybe a side effect of the disease.

Rules
Post your sign-up forms on the linked thread! All sign-ups on this thread will be ignored.

1. Use your common sense and be respectful of us and other players, please.
2. Don't get yourself killed. Please. We don't want to kill you, but you can die if you make stupid decisions.
3. No god-modding or power playing. If you are and we've warned you before, you'll know in a few posts, because your character will die :)
4. Inactivity for 2 weeks+ will get you kicked. We will let you know if you've been inactive for some time.
5. If you're still reading, include the word conductor in your sign-up form.
6. Please quote/bold our last response in your reply and ping whoever you're replying to so we don't miss your post.
7. We (Lalalanmao and Larkien) each decide randomly who we are going to narrate for. Please do not request one person or the other, and don't complain if you got someone you don't want. If you don't like the way we're doing things, you don't have to play.
8. If we accidentally forget to reply, ping us again, we're human and not perfect ^^
9. Everyone playing will probably meet at some point.
10. Yes, this is a more mature RPG, and NPCs you meet might die, but please keep everything you say around PG-13 and we'll do the same on our part and not make anything too horrific. If you want to swear, replace letters with asterisks.
11. PLEASE write at least two sentences and preferably include an action. Narrating is difficult enough without not having anything to go off of. If you do that, you won't get very far, but we will get very annoyed. Additionally, good grammar is extremely helpful.
12. I lied, instead of the word conductor, include the word timekeeper.
13. Read the entire first five posts before signing up, please.
14. Have fun :)
