So I caught the tail end of things this morning in chat, and went to try for a cave egg after all was said and done...

Released many pets that I could, to try and trigger a cave nest, while I stayed in the cave...got a triggered message saying so and so had a scent in the northeast.....egg nest was spawned up above the captains.

Unsure if this is related to AliceHearts issue, If i Have the same issue going on, or if its sylestia-wide. I know many have /not/ gotten a cave nest yet either since themes were released in the caves...very few people have.

Also unsure, some chests that used to spawn in spots for me, have not been spawning either, or I keep missing them. One I know off of the top of my head that has not been, used to spawn right behind the second golem, before the entrance to the bottom half of the first section in the cave.


I did end up taking a portal from the cave to the barracks to turn in quests.. I hope that didnt mess anything up ><

Or, and I am hoping this isn't the case...the nests work properly and RNG isn't being kind.. lol.

Thought I would mention it.

As I was chatting with you in Region, where you are when you release pets makes no difference at all. Releasing pets just simply increments the behind the scenes counter.

For every node that you open within the Lost Grove, basically a die is rolled and if it hits, it spawns a Nest (if you don't already have one up). Where you are at that point in time in the zone is where the Nest should spawn. So if you are north of the pylons, it should spawn a Nest in the forest area. If you are south of the pylons, it should spawn within the caverns.

Up until literally today, there was a 0% chance that it would ever spawn in the caverns as it was not set up properly. So that is why nobody has found any except for the initial zone start up w/ an active Nest going.


As for missing nodes, no node is ever guaranteed to spawn. At any given time, maybe like ~40% of all eligible nodes are spawned. And it's entirely random. So it's very possible a node doesn't spawn in a specific spot for an extended period of time because there's probably only a 1:30 chance that specific node spawns with every respawn. Every once in awhile, you'll hit an 'unlucky' streak where that node doesn't show up for hundreds of respawns.

Gotcha. Both times I went releasing eggs today, my character was strictly in the caves, but both nests that were spawned by such, were spawned above where Eleane spawns at. Hence why I thought I was having issues with it.

Aye told me about the change in the nests, which I then got on and was playing. When I was in the cave, I hit a node and got the nest message. I then found the nest over by the Ents. Does that mean, that when you hit the node, it does not matter where you are at, the nest can spawn anywhere within The Lost Grove. Or does that mean, that since I was in the cave when I hit the node, the egg that I got was a Cave pet, even though the nest was in the Forest?

Ack, so I was right that cave nests didn't exist? No wonder we couldn't find them. I just thought I was having horribly awful luck :')

When you see the message - that's when the location of the Nest is determined.

When you open the Nest, the type of pets you can get (if Themed), is determined based on the location of the Nest.


So... it's supposed to work where if you trigger a Nest while inside the Caverns... a Nest will spawn somewhere inside the Caverns. Then once you find it and open it, you would receive a Caverns Themed Pet if it's Themed.

However, the code for spawning Caverns Nests literally didn't exist until today. And, it seems as though it still is not working entirely correctly at this point. I haven't really had time to sit and test it out so I've just kinda been adding in the coding changes and hoping it works.
