I think in the diamond shop at least, you should be able to buy exactly what you need - including summer festival items. It's possible to buy a specific enhanced essence (I'm saving to that, in fact), so why not a specific majestic catalyst, or a specific sculpting agent?

A majestic catalyst costs 12 USD, with 66% risk that it will be something you don't want or need and that you'll have to spend hours of the forums trying to trade it with other players, and that despite the money you will still fail in the game.

And it's not just the catalysts. I'm so glad I didn't spend any money on the majestic beach tools - I was tempted to do so, you know. But I thought, I'd get the free ones first, see if it's worth it. Now that I've spent 23 or each, I can say it's absolutely not worth any money. The most I got with a majestic tool, even on the so-called 'lucky' spot, was 12 tokens or 3 sculpting agents.

Yeah, you can say it's bad luck. But the combo-pack I considered buying costs 15 USD. And for that money, I want more than just a minuscule chance of luck.

Worth mentioning that winter fest actually has a non-diamond way of buying specific catas you need. I've never quite understood why that's a winter-only feature.

I hadn't ever thought of the comparison to essences, though - that's an interesting point. You can easily buy a specific, super-customizable pet, but you can't freely buy a very specific, less customizable theme? Hmm.

It could be very nice indeed to have dia shop be more specific. I'm not a dia buyer myself, but I've seen a lot of people say things like "I spent a bunch of money on majestic catas and they were all the same, the only one I didn't want". Possibly a bit game-breaking? But definitely less frustration on the players' end.

Fest shop items could stay more random, since generally no real money is spent there.

Agree! Once i actualy get a credit card or something i plan on using some here (only 2 more years....sigh) and i'd like to...um...actually get something i want.

I've had slihtly better luck then you with majesticc tools (few pet dyes, few genetic mutators, too many fabled catas, a scrap of jelllyfish stuff) but it's still a rather...skimpy lot. I mean...i used up at lest 4 packs of shovels and poles during fest (i went for the 250 poles/shovels plus got some for doign other stuff) and i still got better loot from iron and wooden tools without lucky spots.
