I like how some forums are locked and most lock after no one comments on them for a while. I would like to see that being an option for when you create threads. An option to make the thread read only, or only available for certain people (this would be excellent for contests that people pre-enter) but this also poses a few problems like exclusion.

Another thing I'd like to see are tags to help sort through threads. similar to how types of threads are grouped. An example: searching the tag "contest" would only show threads with the contest tag. This is similar to ctrl+f which singles out a word and highlights every instance that word appears. I think this would save a lot of time trying to find certain threads.

Something similar to tags is a search bar that if you enter a word, it shows all threads with the word in the title.

Another thing is deleting your own comments. Sometimes lag causes me to post the same thing twice and it's incredibly annoying having to type an apology message.

I know there would be a lot of flaws with these but they also have a lot of benefits.

I like the search feature and the 'read only' feature. It'll help a lot with thread for showcasing things (i.e. art galleries, pet design storage, etc.)!

A resounding yes to the search options and the 'read only' option. I am against the only certain people can view a thread simply because of exlcusion, if there's something you don't want people to see go to pms.
