"If one of us is, it would be you. And I agree. I'll at least try." Sam said, nodding. He nervously fiddled with a fish scale strung on to a leather string. "My brothers might not want me to go, but if I do... I'd prefer it to be on my own terms. I highly doubt it will be, but what choice do I have." He shrugs.
I offer him a smile, but it feels forced and fake. I have no doubt it looks it too. "I'm not just going to abandon you, if that's what you're wondering. We can make alliances with other districts, but it's not the same as your partner."
I flush as I realized what I said. "Not that kind of partner - just districtmate, I mean."
I gesture to the train station. "Shall we?"

At the train station, you are brought to a traincar, and told to sit tight until you reach the capitol. With a loud screech, the train starts. It rumbles quietly as it goes along its journey to take the tributes to the Hunger Games.
