It happens, more often than anyone wishes, that a player is creating an Exclusive pet (growing, sculpting, whatever) and accidentally forgets to add whatever it is that gives the pet traits. This can be heartbreaking for the player when the pet hatches.
Therefore, I think there should be a Philter that only works on Exclusive pets who have just a single, Carried trait. It would add a Vis trait. Ideally, I think it would work like a Greater Mutator, allowing the player to add a Vis trait to a chosen slot. This would allow players to at least somewhat repair the poor pet's lack of trait points.

I agree with this Spelf
I myself have a Poppy Vulnix that sadly is 1 carried.
Hmm maybe like a disruptor, it can only be used if a carried is taken.

But then players who couldn't afford the fert or didn't care at the time can go add a trait to any pet after they save up long after fest ends. Or alternatively buy a super cheap themed cause no traits, and then add a trait to whatever slot they choose. I think the best bet would be to just add the fert during fest. At best we can try to ask friends to help remind us, but it really is on us as the players to remember to build our pets correctly when we plant them. Just my thoughts.

Unfortunately Miss is right with this, unfortunately sometimes stuff happens and you just have to live with it

Hmm I would agree with most of that but:
1. It won't work on just any themed, only exclusives. And exclusives have a min of 1 carried, some people want that others do not.
2. right now we have GGMs for tagged captured so someone can catch a 2 carried or 1 vis and sell it cheap, then someone can add 1 trait with a GMM and make it 1 vis 2 carried or 2vis.
I don't see the difference. Except once an exclusive is grown/brewed/etc its un-editable besides disruptors and some disruptors don't work unless there is a vis.
3. Some players just are not strong enough during fest to get all they need for all the vis they would like. Later on they could but its to late. This helps those regrets.

There are many ways to get the things needed for fest, that is one reason fests generally last so long. So everyone has a chance. Also, we have to get seeds for exclusive plus buy the fert etc, so adding another way to later add traits would drive the market down further. The hard work we put into these pets is really one of the things that make them so special. It is not too complicated to remember to put on ferts or to work hard enough (especially during fest times) to get the things you need. I really think this is a completely unnecessary addition to the site, but again that is just my opinion on the matter.
There are always other fests if you truly can't get what you wanted, you can always work and build up for next fest. The players that aren't happy with 1c pets can sell the seeds for profit which will help them build up more, and then they can always buy the themed later from adv search when they have the funds, there are almost always themes for sale on there and rather cheaply right after fest times, sometimes much longer, It's very possible.

Well, I never said it ought to be cheap, folks.
Also, perhaps it should just add a random Vis trait.
The idea is for it to be an "OMG! What have I done?" fix, not to be something that players will commonly use.

It doesn't have to be cheap for me to go find and buy a themed from several years ago and add a trait which could drastically change it's value compared to what I paid for it because it had no traits. The only way this could possibly be done even remotely fairly would be to put a time limit on when it can be used. Say 2 weeks after hatching or something. When you realized you added no traits and want to fix it. Even then I'm weary of it. As always there are going to be people who like and dislike the idea, my vote is against it.

Obviously, people who don't like the Philter would not use it.
And Chesh, what is wrong with buying an unfortunate Exclusive from a couple of years ago and spending Diamonds for the chance of giving her/him a new trait for that Theme? I'm not being snarky; I don't get why that could be a bad thing. I spend lots of Diamonds on Trait Disruptors to give new traits to old Themes. I don't mind (much) that it is expensive, because it is fun. Could you please explain what you are perceiving that I am not?
Anyhow the principle use of such a Philter would no doubt be to salvage a pet that the player just somehow forgot to (or was not able to--RL interferes sometimes) use the necessary material for adding Traits on.

I was understanding your philter to be that it would /definitely/ give a new trait, carried or vis. If it is simply for a /chance/ at one I honestly might be able to get behind the idea. Sorry if I misunderstood ^^
