Welsome, I hope you enjoy this game as much as I do!
A couple of tips I found really helpful when I was getting started: send pets on missions (at the barracks in town), ask questions either in the Q&A forum or to whoever is there (I'm always happy to help if you send me a message), and never use full caps in the chat.
