Traps are so expensive. I'm a new player without a lot of gold, so I can't really buy pets. I have to catch my own, but I can't because the traps are so expensive (even the worst ones.) No one really sells traps, because they cost so much to begin with! Since I'm a new player, I don't know if there are cheaper traps as you progress, but I don't think so. 1000 gold for 1 sucky trap!! The whole point of Sylestia is to battle and gain more Sylesties (along with some other stuff.) If we can't trap our own in the beginning, the whole purpose is destroyed. Well OK, that is the end of my rant, but don't you agree, especially my fellow newbies

A few "FYI" things:

-People don't sell traps because most of them aren't tradable. The only traps that can be traded are masters, which are bought with diamonds and guaranteed to succeed.

-Advanced Search is a great place to look for pets. In the bottom right of the "Search Pets" menu is an option to Order By: Sale Price - Ascending. This will show you all pets for sale, including many for only 1g.

I know it can be hard to get started as a newbie. I remember those days. But if you're willing to work at it a bit, and constantly run missions (see the guide to making gold), it does get easier eventually.

I recommend not catching ANY pets at all (other than the quest one, of course) in the beginning. Traps wastes money you do not have, pets take up stable space, you have to feed them (more gold)and often they dont even look that good. Uncommons are only 1 carried so they have no visible traits.

save up gold for stable tabs, party slots, missions, and dont catch any pets. I learned that the hard way myself :(

A lot o people (like myself) rewullinf to give you free pets or wggs-and then you can just breed them.

Something to keep in mind, is that stable space IS limited. You have to buy additional space wit gold or additional stables, so if you fill it up too fast then you dont have room for those really nice pets you just HAVE to have. Also, stable pets have to be fed, which costs money.

Having traps cost what they cost limits how much newer players catch. I've seen countless many newbies overwhelm themselves with new pets, either caught or off the adv search, and not be able to feed them or house them. It helps players to get to a point whee thye have established some sort of income before overdoing it with how many they catch, that way there are fewer players who cannot afford to handle the pets they have. (still happens due to the plethora of cheap pets on adv search, but it helps)
