I think a good idea would be adding a like and dislike button to forum posts.

Im gonna say no to the dislike button. That would be an invitation for negativity which no site really needs. Id pass on the like button because then there will be even more people asking for a dislike button, once again very negative and not needed, but mainly I just dont see it as being necessary. I wouldnt mind a thumbs up or this post is helpful button though.

I'm with Eim on this. I don't like the option to dislike things, brings out the bad in people. We also don't really need a like button, you can just ping or pm that person and tell them you like something they posted. I would rather just let them know personally, though that's me.

Edit: I do like the helpful post button idea though.

honestly I don't see any point in it. and like other people mentioned it just brings negativity.

The community here is pretty welcoming and kind overall, I'd hate to see that ruined by dislike buttons. And then someone might feel inadequate for having less "likes".

No support, these are forums, not Instagram posts. I see no point in it either.

I'd be for a variety of buttons actually, like "LOL", "Insightful", "Agreed", or "Virtual Hug". Liking is too easy to politicize, so to speak, but having a quick little reaction button helps with communication, I think.

I think this should be used on suggestions only. But as a "Support" or "Not Support" button. That way, Krinadon can see which suggestions are popular and maybe add them to the game. I certainly like the idea but maybe not for all the forums.

I think the idea has merit in some forums, but not others. I agree that being able to mark posts in the suggestions forum would be a good way of evaluating which posts deserve attention. It could be argued that this is what comments/replies are for, but it would be nice to be able to just indicate that you agree without clogging up the chat. It might even encourage more people to visit the suggestions forum.

I could also see this having some merit in the Q&A and Player Guides forums, so one could judge at a glance whether a particular thread is going to be useful to them and point others in the direction of the most helpful posts. Now, the community is generally pretty good about providing useful information when called upon, so maybe what those threads need more is a search function for finding what you are looking for, but I digress.

For the most part, though, a like button is not what Sylestia needs, and it needs a dislike button even less. It would be a shame to see the forums turned into contests, which is inevitably what would happen if people's posts could be scored or ranked with likes.
