Everyone has an escape from reality, right?
A good book, a video game, just plain thinking?
Well, Constantinoplia takes that escape to the next level.
You have found access to it through some strange portal you were able to conjure one day. It's an entire imaginary world (a discontinued paracosm I created, actually) filled with... well, a few preexisting characters I tampered with... a few OCs of mine... and, If you're interested, you.
Features of Constantinoplia
-Its own money system based on a metric money system
-NPCs you can interact with
-Unlimited space and no deadline for joining
-A map to explore
-Job occupations and chances to progress to higher positions
-Familiar enemies to face...
-Getting creative and meeting new friends!
Not good enough? Recommendations on how to improve player experience are welcome!
The NPCs
(who you, of course, do not control)
*denotes characters not created by me ;-;
Pit*
Can't you see what's at stake here? I don't care if my wings catch fire!
Pit is the faithful servant of the goddess of light, Palutena. He's defeated Medusa, queen of the Underworld and Hades, the true ruler of the Underworld. He's a polytheistic angel whose wings are too small to fly without a bit of help from his goddess. He's a true friend who will never let you down.
Dark Pit*
You've got me confused with the other guy. This Pit is no pawn.
Created by the Mirror of truth, Dark Pit (often called Pittoo, but he really doesn't like that) was intended to destroy Pit. He came out a little early, and no he's a loner with a mind that is purely his own. His only loyalty is to himself, and though he doesn't generally take a liking to anyone, he did once help Pit when Palutena was in danger. He has a strange connection to Pit you could learn about by just asking around.
Lyss
A-and I'm Lyss! Servant of... hehe, servant of WHOEVER I WANT TO SERVE!
Another example of a clone created to destroy Pit, Lyss was created by a cheap replica of the Mirror of Truth. She looks a bit like Pit, but dark purple and shorter. When she was first created, she had no true will of her own, but Pit soon gave her that right. However, she can't be freed by the strange bond that forces her to protect Pit and Dark Pit at any cost. She's not too open, but when you get to know her, she'll show you a bit of her slightly warped sense of humor.
Reneme
I know what you think of me. I don't particularly care; think what you want. It doesn't change what I am.
At first glance, Reneme is a bit... odd, to say the least. She looks something like Tails (from the Sonic franchise), but not quite. Oh, and never mistake her for being any color but red-orange. She likely aided in Lyss's warped sense of humor, having one herself. Don't let her strange and very open personality scare you too much, though--she's actually a very good friend once she accepts you. Naturally, she has a dark secret surrounding her, but she won't open up unless she really likes you.
Silver
I'm not fighting for the wrong side. I'm just willing to accept that what's expected isn't always what's right.
Silver is arguably Reneme's best friend. He looks quite a bit like Sonic the Hedgehog, but he's not Silver (from the franchise) or Sonic. I'm just bad at physical character design. He's generally very calm and quiet. He's a friend you can trust, and likely the least dangerous out of anyone on this list to have as an enemy.
Cheddar
Don't you touch them again, or I'll touch you very hard in the face with a... well, I won't say it in front of them, but you get the idea!
Cheddar claims to be the best friend of several of the characters on this list, though none of them would entirely agree. She looks like Cream from the Sonic franchise, but again, just my laziness, not actually Cream. Being the oldest of anyone on this list, she thinks of herself as a sort of protector over them. And take it from me... definitely not someone you want to anger.
Hollie
Yeah, well, don't get the wrong idea. I still don't like you.
At first, she can come across as mean. That's because she is. She's five feet, two inches, and one hundred and twenty-five pounds of pure... surprisingly enough, well-controlled, rage in a blue-jean-and-hoodie messy-haired package. She'll never admit she likes you, and never tell you her secret. Don't get her angry, or you'll be sorry....
Derek
Look, buddy, I may be wrong, but your flag is down. So, yeah.
He wasn't like this when I first started designing his character, but he thinks of him self as kind of a big deal. He doesn't like being proven wrong, but won't really hold it against you if you do prove him wrong. I haven't really come up with his exact looks, even after... how long ago did I make Constantinoplia? Seven years ago? Yeah, about that long. He has brown hair, though. That won't change.
Jay
Guys! Can we please stop throwing food at each other and just.... Watson, hand me that pie.
Generally one of the most civilized on this list, Jay is skinny and he has white hair and that's as far as I've designed. Several characters consider him a good friend, though he's unaware of most of his 'friends'. Well, they're all already friends, but... whatever. Not too extroverted, not too introverted, but he's often got his head in the clouds, so keep in mind he may not know exactly who he's friends with.
Bruce
Oh, I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you like that. Here, let me help you.
He looks terrifying at first, towering well above any of the others on this list with the looks of a bodybuilder. But his soft side is more prevalent than most. He is a bit of a coward, though. He makes a good friend in most situations.
Watson
I don't want to fight! Do you understand? I'm scared, okay?!
His real name is Gary Watson, but Hollie didn't like him too much and just called him 'Watson', which stuck with him after a while. He's small and weak-looking, not to mention an outright coward. Not really the greatest of friends, since he'd rather run from you than comfort or be with you.
Junior
Check out this thing I made! No, no, wait, I promise it works! Or, at least, it used to....
She tries to be a child prodigy, but she's not. She looks like Toadette, and her real name is Toadette Jr., but it got too confusing with another Toadette, so now she's just Junior. She's constantly daydreaming of things she might build one day. She has a sunny disposition and is fun to hang around, but most of what anyone else says goes right over her head. Not that I'm making a short joke or anything....
The World
Constantinoplia has several unique city-states. The capitol city is Center City, located in the middle of the world. Then there are several smaller cities scattered around it: Mushroom Village, Rayland, Kidicaria, Lozville, and one more I have yet to name (I'll call it Philinthablenck). Clearly, in case you hadn't noticed, these are rip-offs from video games, but whatever. Each one has a distinct feature, which is for me to know and you to find out.
How to Play
Gameplay is simple: Walk in with your character, have fun, and... well, don't die. I'm going to be pretty relaxed about this, but putting my paracosm out there with twelve of the... er, several characters that were originally in it kinda feels like putting my neck on the chopping block, so maybe don't utterly destroy it ;-; You can get a job, attend events, gamble your tickets (the currency of Constantinoplia)... just about anything.
Tickets come in an array of colors that differs depending on its worth. Red ticket is the lowest, the standard for the currency. An orange ticket is ten red tickets, a yellow is ten orange, a green is ten yellow, a blue is ten green, an indigo (yeah, I'm going there. u mad bruh?) is ten blue, and a violet is ten indigo. I also had white, black, and rainbow tickets, but I won't put those out until I think you're ready.
Jobs are fairly easy to obtain. Just ask for a job and prove you have the skill set. For examples of existing jobs, Reneme ran a candle shop (which now has openings) before joining a band with Cheddar and Silver, called the Seconds. There are armies to lead, there's banks you can run, and some jobs are more challenging than others. Just see what suits you best; you can quit a job at any time, and you make your own hours.
