not sure if this is technically a "bug" or not, but I just got one of this year's current items out of a Avatar Item (Winter - Retired) box.....any way to fix it? The Item I got was a Griffi Spirit Tamer's Polearm (Crystalline).

The exact same thing just happened to me. I also received the same item, so it may just be that item that is flagged incorrectly. I would love to have the polearm switched for a retired item if possible.

I thought I had already coded in an automatic year adjustment for those but it seems it was still manual and I never adjusted it for this year. So once it became 2019, it was considering 2018 as old. I fixed it and will now update it so that it automatically adjusts in the future.

Just an FYI that this still seems to be an issue. I have received an owl tamers flute twice now from retired boxes. I trashed the first one since they are completely worthless, but the second one is still in my inventory.

That was a 2017-2018 item.
Only Spectral and White were added this year.

Okay, I didnt realize that. I thought I got one from a boss, but it might have been the white one. Thanks for checking.

The items did return but they are switched to what I call "Legacy" drop tables. So like, for the Owl set, there were 2 new bosses this year who both each dropped either the Spectral or White set, but also could still drop the 2017 items.
However, they are still 2017 items so they can still show up in retired boxes.
It's not a perfect system, but there really isn't any other option without hand coding thousands of items into all of these boxes.
