You look out the window, but you don't see her. There's a note laying on the ground where you thought you saw her. It's heavy paper, the kind used in official messages. It's stamped with a seal you can't see from here.

I take shelter near the tree, and try to find food around the tree. I have Decipher stand watch, and let the vulnyx rest.

You find a root that might be edible. There is a stream nearby, and it seems clean. There is only enough of the root for two. Who, if any, do you feed?

I give the vulnyx half of the root, and split the rest between me and Decipher.

The vulnyx, being quite small, only eats a third of the root. You split the rest with you and Decipher. The sun sets, and you decide you need to keep watch. Who do you put on watch?

The note says in loopy calligraphy, "You must find Hanna before the Last Day." It is unsigned. The emblem, in rich, thick scarlet wax, is similar to the Academy's. However, you soon realize it's the emblem of Twilight Keep, the palace that once was home to the deities. You look up. There are three streets ahead of you: Velaris Avenue, Alafia Path, and Siyte Street. You can also go back inside.

I stay up on watch, letting Decipher and the vulnyx sleep.

Well, as tempted as I am to just have you be murdered for stealing my shoes (you little devil child), the night is uneventful and nothing important happens through the night. Soon, it's morning, and all you find is another note. this one says, "Be more careful. I had a knife to your throat. Now, you must find a way out of the plains before nightfall."
