In the lost grove there are ents near a dome structure at the bottom left of the map. The egg is down there. You don't have to fight the ents to get it.

Yep, you have to keep battling. I'd suggest to use up your filter on a higher exp area like the lost grove and then return to find the egg.

The clue chat isn't available, you'd have to make one on your own using the create chatroom option. Player created chatrooms disappear if no one is on them.

The only thing I can tell you is to refresh your egg hunt page to see if you got it and didn't notice and to keep battling. It can take a while to get an egg because it's random to drop or not.

The order of the clues are randomized for each individual, mine is different from yours as well c: scratch that I was confused there xD
