I promised a friend that I would do some research and figure out just how large or small various Sylesties are. Here's the first one--the Qitari.

In the descriptions of various Sylesti species, the Sylesti Generator's List of Species gives average heights and weights for the species. Unfortunately, the data on heights are not much help, because the descriptions don't say how species' heights are measured. For example, most real-world quadrupeds are measured from the top of the shoulder to the ground--but are Sylesti quadrupeds measured that way, or from the top of the head, or from the back, or what?

Therefore, I used the average Qitari weight, 650 pounds, in creating this image. A Qitari is built like an equine, even though its hooves are cloven. A 650-pound equine would stand roughly 4'8" tall at the withers (top of the shoulders), so it makes sense that an average Qitari would also stand about 4'8" at the shoulder.

In the real world, I am about 5'7" tall. Therefore, I created the image below by assuming the height of my avatar as 5'7" and scaling the image of the Qitari accordingly, putting the withers at a height of about 4'8". My handsome Rose Petal stallion, Prairie Rose, graciously agreed to serve as my model.

Hmm I would assume that a Qitari would be measured similarly as a horse. (Though we measure horses in 'hands'. Were each 'hand' is 4 inches. and we measure from level ground to the top of the withers.)

I would imagine other quad pets would be measured that way too, like in real life we do the same with cows, Deer, dogs and cats.

Perhaps pets like the Ny'Vene and Drea, who are biped, would be measured to the top of their head?

Edit:

And pets like Aeridini and Lunemaras could be measured more in the sense of 'length' not 'hight'

You are correct, Draum, but the problem is the word "assume." The Generator's List of Species descriptions give a "height" measurement for each species without saying in what manner height is measured. This includes pets like the Aeridini and Nephini. However, there's no ambiguity about how to measure a creature's weight. To me, that made weight the most accurate way to figure out a Sylesti's size.

I don't like to bother Krin but perhaps he may be able to elaborate for us?
Should we ping him and ask?

(Now I would like to know.)

I'm already bothering Krin (with his permission) about a coding issue. However, if you learn anything definite about how any Sylesties should be measured, please share. I have a feeling that the listed heights are supposed to be from the top of the head of the Sylesti illustration to the presumable location of the floor, but I could be completely wrong.

Flute, or maybe Taptothebeat had made an accurate visual chart according to Krin's guidelines. If I can find it I'll post it here.

Now we have me with a Qitari and a Bulbori!

Prairie Rose is still being patient, and our gracious Bulbori model is Sveltelyse, who belongs to Scathreoite.

Bulbories are more like rabbits and hares than they are like any other Earth animals. It was fairly easy to locate images of rabbits weighing about 10 kilograms, which is about what Bulbories weigh. However, few images showed them to scale with anything that I could use to scale a Bulbori image. I finally watched a number of videos showing pet rabbits of about the right weight. I noticed that each rabbit was a generous armful for an adult, the tops of their heads fit nicely into an adult's palm, and their ears were roughly eight to ten inches long. This information allowed me to size Sveltelyse's image. As you can see, she would be an armful for me to pick up, her head would fit my palm, and her ears are a bit longer than my hand (wrist to middle fingertip). This, then, is the size of an average Bulbori.
