Nothing happened, leaving you free to do anything. The fire continued to burn eerily, as there was no source of fuel.

(Don't worry, I make that mistake so often x-x)

The hallway is made of pure stone, nothing special. Here and there at regular intervals between the fire were smooth white round items with a mysterious rune carved in it.
