I wanted to breed with another player's female pet, and when I did, I did not receive the egg. Does that mean that I need to ask them to send me the egg? Or will they send it when they see the breeding in their overview? I mean, the female is set for public breeding...

When you breed with another player's pet, regardless of who owns which gender, you should receive the egg.
Are you certain that you don't have it? I checked your hatchery and found an eggling that was bred today at roughly the time that you asked this question.

Oops, you're right! It just didn't say "Eggling added to hatchery", so I didn't think it had worked. Thank you! (Silly me, I really should have checked...)
