I bought some fully re-gen'able Kelparies, like nearly everyone else did, and now I'm trying to create a project. Please comment. If you would, tell me more than "I like it" or "I don't like it." If you like it, please tell me what you like about it. If you don't like it, tell me what you don't like about it and, as a bonus, how you would change it.

I call it "Maireener* Kelpari."

I like it because the colors look beautiful together, each gene and mutation is visible and separate from the others (though the nebula is a little difficult to see). Also, the traits all look nice together.

My only comment is that not all of those traits are re-genable, so I'm not sure how you plan to include them.
Specifically, Nebula and Luminous mane.

Good point about the traits, Aaron. I don't imagine this as a re-gen only project; I'll breed the re-gen'd Kelps to some Tamed who have Nebula and Luminous Mane.

I have considered increasing the difference in saturation between G2 and M2 colors, and also about switching to Mystic Horns in M3. Thoughts?

Hm... I think if you do both, you'd need to make the M2 color a little more on the blue side, otherwise it seems out of place. And personally, I really like the Luminous mane, especially over the horns.

It's nice. I like it though I think the main colour ( and eye and armour colour) could be a bit more the the fin colouring.

Hmmmm, take my advice with a large heaping of NaCl, because I have my own subjective biases.

I think the trait combination is lovely!

... buuut it's too pastelly for my tastes. (I know, I know, I have designed pets that are pastel: see Agapi

- but she is actually ugly as hell, and I consider her to be a fail in terms of colour.)

Aside from colour choice...

I think the main idea I am trying to get across is for you to bring out the traits a bit more: especially the nebula and the glowing runes. The main problem is that the nebula cannot be seen easily, (though I do like the colour scheme there, so I'm not sure what to do about that.), and the glowing runes fade into the seahorse too easily, so I made them more bold and glowy. I darkened the skin colour because it makes the lighter G1 and G3 easier to see.

It's a lovely concept but I do think the gene 1 and 3 colors are very close together so they don't stand out from each other very much. Also, I would have more contrast for nebula so it stands out more as well. I do love the mane though. I hope you don't mind but I played around with the colors some for ideas to suggest.

I like the general concept. They are pretty.

That said the skin being so pink kind of throws it off for me. I feel like it should be slightly more brown or orangey, but I admittedly have not plugged it in to see how that would look so I might be totes wrong. I do like the color suggestions that have been made so far. Not 100%, but maybe as a jumping point for some more tweaking.

But regardless I think they are pretty lovely as is and I love the mane, but the horns are nice too :)

The only part I'm not fond of is colour 1, it looks like bald skin to me. I love the design if the orange is just slightly darker though. As it is it definitely looks like those shells.

It doesn't matter what others think though, they're your Kelpari, you should make what you really like.
