So here it is. And yes, that's the same paper from last year. Had it on my shelf and it brought back memories ^-^; This is hand drawn, freestyle on paper then poked out and carved. I finally got actual carving tools this year. Took me 2 days, for a total of about 14 hours, (I'm really slow and my hands kept cramping up >.<).

Tried to include lots of fun elements: The watchful owl, the flitting bats, the gnarled tree, the hanging jack o'lanterns, the thumping cattails, dark skulls hidden in the grass, and of course, our spunky little lupora pup howling at the full moon.

-This is a panorama image to be able to try and capture everything. A bit darker caused by the panorama setting but still accurate to what it looks like.

-The chosen pumpkin!

-Hand0drawn pattern all poked out.

-Doesn't look like much but almost done.

-All done, just in time for the rain!

-Two days' worth of work! Well worth the time and hand-cramps.

Apologies for all the pictures (but hey, I stayed below 10); just trying to get all the angles and proper lighting so everything is able to be seen.

Digital Entry:

-Actually worked pretty hard this time on the digital. Few tikes out on Halloween night in front of an old house. Cautious vulnyx kit, spunky zolnixi pup, and one very carefree luffox make up this dynamic trio!

Okay, so I was thinking I wouldn't be able to enter the real pumpkin carving part of this contest since I no longer have access to real pumpkins (ever since I grew some and they sprawled halfway across the yard - a fairly large yard -, my grandmother no longer lets me grow a garden xD ), but then I saw that someone carved an apple because they didn't have pumpkins either. I had some miniature Red Delicious apples, so I carved an apple as well; I hope nobody minds! ^u^' I chose the biggest one I had for this project and it was about 3 inches tall, so I had an interesting time accomplishing much. ^D^ If me doing an apple is not okay, then skip down to my digital entry or let me know. ^D^

The apple before I took sharp objects to it...

The apple after I ...hollowed it out... and the avocado tool I used...

The Final Product!

My digital entry...

Halloween is not exactly enough of a thing around here to make obtaining a 'carving' pumpkin easy, and we're kind of skittish around knives and such in any case.
Digital is far more comfortable for us, thankfully.
So... Ryori pumpkin!

We've never actually seen a carved pumpkin in real life, but some of the ones people have done here are really nice.

I actually got a pumpkin to participate this year. I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was 10, so this has been quite a bit of fun. (I had no writing utensil immediately available, so I used my laptop for now to label with my name. TwT )

Modeled off of my legendary aurleon.

I found a marker~!

And what it looks like lit up:

Digital pumpkin:

So Dark picked up a mysterious while pumpkin from the Esior's Field and decided to call it Sammy, and I drew him up. xD

Fruit carving:

I carved an apple since halloween pumpkins are not usually sold in stores.

First time carving anything, so carving is shoddy. xD It is supposed to be a ryori, haha.

been wanting to carve a bones/skull one, but since pumpkin carving is not a thing here (and I don't like pumpkin enough to go buy one just to carve/cook), I did a digital one. =P
