FINAL ROUND
Okay everyone, are you ready to have some fun! You are?! Great! Let's get going!
There is going to be a decent amount to read and I encourage ALL of the contestants to read through very carefully. This contest is going to be a bit more complex than the usual contests in this forum and I want everyone to have a fair and fun time. The prize packages will be in the post below, so if you read this before I have those posted just give me a few minutes. Trust me, it's worth the wait to see what you're playing for. :)
The rules are very simple but they should be read thoroughly. There will not be any "secret words" since the contestants won't be posting their designs here, so PLEASE take your time and through all of them. The rules are also going to detail how the contest and the eliminations are going to work.
Contestants, please read through all the rules. I have added one to let you know how to send your design images to me in the correct size.
THIS THEME HAS SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS! PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!
RULES
1.) Always the most important rules, please be nice to each other. Like I said, for the most part the contestants won't be posting much, but the rule still stands. No fighting, bashing, harassing, and just generally being mean to each other. Contestants who do so will be warned once and disqualified if it happens again.
2.) There will be a total of 10 rounds to this competition. There will be two people eliminated each round for Rounds 1-8. These eliminations will be based off of the voting rounds. The two designs with the least amount of votes will be eliminated. In the event of a tie, a 24 hour Sudden Death vote will be started, and the two designs in a tie will be voted on by the public again.
3.) There will be a WILDCARD ROUND before the FINAL ROUND. This means that every contestant who was eliminated before will be given the chance to return to the competition for the FINAL ROUND. The eliminated contestants will be given their own theme and the ONE person who gets the most votes will be reinstated to the competition and given another chance at competing for a Prize Package.
4.) Unless otherwise stated in the theme explanation, you are required to design for both the male and female of whatever species you are using for the theme. This means that whatever design you use must be shown on both the male and female, so design accordingly.
5.) CONTESTANTS: Do NOT post your designs in this forum, or say anything about what you're going to base your design off of. This is VERY important, because the voting rounds are meant to be "blind votes". This means that the public are not going to know which contestant made which design when they vote. When you complete your design you need to Private Message them to me. I will then save the images to my Photobucket under your username so that there is no confusion when I post them for the voting round, and your designs do not get lost.
6.) If you, as a contestant, break Rule #5 and post your design in this thread, you will be asked to drastically redo your design. This is the only way to keep things fair for everyone. I'm not going to penalize anyone more harshly than that, since I don't see anyone breaking this rule except by accident.
7.) Due to sizing issues we had with the entries in round one, I wanted to just go ahead and give everyone clear instructions for how I want you to send them to me this time. First of all PLEASE SAVE YOUR DESIGNS. That way if there is an issue the first time you send them to me you don't lose all your work. What I want everyone to do is to send me the URL for the very big preview. You get this big preview by clicking on the smaller thumbnail of the Sylesti on the sidebar of the generator. When you copy and paste to me in a message it should look like this...
Now, you can send this to me, and that will be fine, I can resize it slightly in Photobucket without distorting it because its big to begin with. What I would LIKE everyone to do is to add &size=300 to the end of the code above. So it would look like this.
If anyone has any questions you are, of course, free to ask. :)
8.) HAVE FUN! Yes, this is a rule. I made this contest to be fun and challenging. I am SUPER excited to see everyone's designs and creativity. This is your chance to push your design skills further than you've ever pushed them. Do research, think carefully about your design before hitting the generator, try multiple designs before choosing, do whatever you have to do to make your design the best you can. I know you're all capable of greatness. :)
9.) If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask either here in this thread or through private message. This also means that if anyone thinks I missed something or should add another rule. I'm not perfect, and I always worry I might have missed some key piece of information.
Now for the fun part...this week's theme IS...
Character Archetypes
Alright guys, this is our final round. I spent a lot of time making sure that this round was going to be fun to do, challenging, and fun to vote for in the end. You will have ONE WHOLE WEEK to complete your designs since there will be a total of FIVE.
So, character archetypes...basically what this means is the basic models that storytellers use to create "traditional" types of characters. We know them as "heroes" and "wise men" and "villains". For this round you will be making a total of FIVE character based designs by choosing five different characters from the pre-typed selections in the post below. YOU WILL NOT BE MAKING YOUR OWN CHARACTERS. Let me explain a little...
There are five different "character groups" below with one male and one female character whose descriptions I have pre-typed. You will select one character from each group and base a design off of that character's description. Some have specific features you can play off of, and some are more vague. You have complete creative freedom as far as species, color, and traits are concerned. I had an example to show you guys, but I lost the image/description and am waiting for hear back from the person that did it. I will will ping everyone again when I get it back, and in the meantime you're of course free to start your designs. :)
As always, you are free to ask questions, message me with design to get my opinion on how well it fits the theme, etc. I look forward to seeing everyone's entries. :)

Here are the character descriptions to choose from. Please choose one character from each pair. Obviously, DO NOT POST which ones you're choosing. You don't even have to tell me ahead of time if you don't want to. You are free to play around with each character to see which designs you like better, but in the end you will only be turning in one design per category. Thank you.
Wise Man/Woman
Witch: Myrna is a hermit woman who lives in the swamp. She is considered something of a hearth witch and will tell the fortunes of any travellers who pay her a visit on their journeys.
Wizard: Zephyr is a wise man who seems to have been weakened by age with his long white hair, but when you look into his eyes you can see the depth of his power. He carries a long walking stick with him, which he uses as both a weapon and a tool to channel his magic.
Good Guy/Gal
Hero: Ravi is a reluctant hero, but a born leader. He is smaller than average, but has an inner strength the gives him the power to command others and inspire them to do great things. He works as an assistant at the inn where his uncle works, but one day soon his time will come.
Heroine: Camilla has led a tough life, and that has made her a tough girl. Orphaned as a child she has lived most of her life with with nothing. Now, she is an accomplished thief, but she leads a sort of Robin Hood lifestyle, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. She has a deep sense of honor and compassion for people who struggle.
Magical Beings
Healing Fairy: Iris is a healing fairy who loves all living things in the world. Her compassions shines from her in a dazzling array of colors. She has a special weakness for questing heroes and always goes out of her way to give them a helping hand.
Trickster Fairy: Loki is a fairy who has a love of jokes. His passion is to play pranks and anyone he can. He is not evil, but sometimes his pranks can get a little bit out of hand, and are at times cruel.
Bad Guy/Gal
Villain: Vidar is a grizzled, battle veteran. He commands the kingdoms army with a brutality that results in more fear than loyalty. He presents a devoted facade to the King and Queen, but secretly plans to overthrow their rule and take over control of the land.
Villainess: Bellatrix is a dark sorceress. Evil seeps from her every pore, and creates an unnatural chill wherever she goes. She delights in bending lesser beings to her will and making her minions do her bidding.
Craftsman/woman
Blacksmith: Cooper is a big bulk of a man who works as a blacksmith. His size and often blank expression give people the impression that he is not intelligent, but when he is in his forge creating beautiful things out of metal, his entire personality comes alive. People who know him well, know that he has a huge heart and a smile that lights up his face.
Bard: Cecilia is a slender woman who was born blind. Her father felt very sorry for his child and presented her with a lute as a gift when she was five years old. She quickly learned how to play all on her own and her musical prowess began to spread far and wide. People now travel very far to hear her play her instruments, for she has since learned to play several.

Prize Packages
These are the prize packages that will be given to the top 4 contestants. There will also be a Participation Prize for everyone who entered, to be received once they've been eliminated. I would like to personally thank both AliceHearts and Xdarksonicx for making the 2-Vis Wheel Pet Offspring prizes possible by allowing breedings with their beautiful pets. Here is the example I mentioned. This perfectly portrays the idea behind this final round. Taking the short character description and making a Sylesti design from it. This example comes to us from former competitor Xavion.
"Gizmo is an intelligent sylesti who loves to tinker and build mechanical things. She has big, beautiful wings that help her work on projects that are much larger than she is, but the job can get pretty messy."

Oh man, you were right, that IS a perfect example. Xav got the oil stains as a gene and everything. Send my appreciation to 'em!

Hey guys, just going to keep this short. Contest has been extended to Wednesday, September 23rd at 10PM because I slacked on the reminders. I was going to give you guys a 48 AND a 24 hour notice, but I forgot last night. I believe I have two complete entries so far, so three of your to go. I know two of you have messaged me for advice which leaves one person that I hope hasn't forgotten. :P
