~Welcome to Sylestia's Next Top Designer~
WILDCARD ROUND VOTING

VOTING CLOSED

Voting Ends: Sunday, September 13nd at 6:00PM Sylestia Time

Alright, so this is our Wildcard Round. The people participating in this round are the contestants who have been eliminated from previous rounds. There will be ONE winner of this round that will join our top four contestants in the Final Round.

A quick note about this round. Obviously with the festival craziness it was a bit more difficult to get this round done. I only received seven entries. One person sent me a message to let me know they couldn't turn one in, several people haven't been online for over a week or at least several days, and a few people just never turned anything in. I did NOT do a 24 Hour Call this round because I forgot, however I made the executive decision to go ahead with everything as scheduled simply because I DO know that everyone got the message in the beginning and the ping to the round post. Those people who have put in the time and effort to make it to the top four deserve to get on to their Final Round as soon as possible. I apologize if any of the contestants who weren't able to get an entry in this time find this unfair or harsh, this is just the way I decided to do it.

As always, enjoy the designs, please keep the theme in mind when voting and encourage all your friends to vote. :)

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THE RULES!

RULES

1.) None of the entries will be labeled with the contestants name. This is what is considered a "blind vote", meaning no one will know who created what design. Once all of the votes are in I will put edit my Vote Counter post below so that everyone's name will be revealed.

2.) There is no real way for me to police this, but I feel confident that those of you who are contestants won't reveal which design is your's privately to anyone in order to get votes. If you are found to have done this you will be disqualified. Furthermore, if you accidentally post in this thread before the voting ends and indicate which design is your's I won't disqualify you, but you will not be eligible for anymore votes.

3.) VOTERS: When voting please vote for your TWO favorite designs. They will be numbered, so please refer to the designs you wish to vote for by number, and not just design name. Comments are welcome and I'm sure will be appreciated by the contestants, but please keep it positive.

4.) Contestants are allowed to vote, but it should go without saying that you shouldn't vote for your own design. I'll know whose is whose.

5.) Everyone have fun and please let me know if you have any questions or think I left something out.

WILDCARD ROUND THEME - Good vs. Evil
So the theme is Good vs. Evil. There are multiple ways to think of this, so please give it a lot of thought before heading to the generator. You will be making two separate designs, and I don't want to see a bunch of angelic and demonic designs. Just think of things that are opposite: Black and White, Hot and Cold, Happy and Sad. As long as one design clearly represents a "good" character and the other clearly represents an "evil" character, you have total creative freedom. To make this round extra challenging, I want you all to think back to when you signed up and put down what you favorite Sylestia species is...*cackles evilly*...

For this theme you MUST use the species you put down as your favorite species as the species you design with for this contest. I wrote them all down in my notes at the very beginning so I know what everyone said, which means no changing your choice. However, some of you DID put down multiple species. In order to keep things fair I have pre-randomized a selection from the species you listed. These choices are NOT up for discussion so please do not try.

Okay, so quick recap...you will be making TWO separate designs using ONE species based off of the Good vs. Evil theme. You can use the same gender or different genders, I'll leave that up to you.

Design #1 - Life and Death Zolnixi
"Though Life's colors seem a bit odd, compared to usual depictions of life, their colors are not random. Red represent our Life Blood, our passion and love. The pink of a newborn babe, the innocence that we have when we are brought into this world. The orange to show our courage to live our life the way we want.

Death looks like what we all imagine it to be. But it's not something we always think about. Death is thought of to be very spiritual, which the purple fairy rings represent. The black and gray what we think death might be, though everyone has their own thoughts on the matter. The brown representing the earth we all eventually return too when we greet Death when our times come."

Design #2 - Sunrise and Sunset Lighira
"Sunset-
I did the dark colors you see of the sunset the dark orange the sky turns to is his main body color. The darker color clouds around him for the fur color. I used the Bengal fade to represent the light orange you see all over the sky. Night glow not only for the ironic name but the slight glow of the trait worked well. The majestic regalia and the autumn dragon mask makes him look a bit like a big cat god that looks like he watches over the sunset.

Sunrise-
I wanted to capture all the colors you see in a sunrise. I chose the faded outline trait to show off the light orange color you see in between the clouds. Magma runes to show off the tiny bit of purple you see in the clouds among the shine of the sun. The majestic regalia and autumn dragon mask to fit the Sunset. The wings to show off the beautiful mesh of the colors together."

Design #3 - Blood Moon and Blue Moon Aeridini
"The "Evil" would be the Blood Moon Aeridini, who seeks to destroy the planet. The "Good" would be the Blue Moon Aeridini, who restores the world to its former state after its been destroyed.

Maniacal twist: It's the same Aeridini! She's just a little bit crazy and has a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome. So she goes around destroying the planet and then rebuilding it in a sad, vicious cycle that never ends... Sucks to be the moon. So many phases to go through."

Design #4 - Ice and Fire Ny'Vene

Design #5 - Dark Fire and Purifying Fire Ryori
"Dark Fire, and Purifying Fire. One cannot exist without the other, yet they remain forever locked in combat. Never aging, never tiring, never stopping. Dark Fire, tempting others with external beauty. Purifying Fire revealing all that lays within."

Design #6 - War and Peace Lupora
"War is destruction, hate, greed. War is led by people who crave power and fame, and often don't even directly experience the pain and torture they cause. It's evil in a very pure form. Peace is love, growth, acceptance. Peace comes when we think of other people and actually care what happens to them. It might not be easy or lasting, but it's worth striving for good. I tried to show the difference between the two by using some of the same genes, but in different manners; Frosted Glass feels calm with Peace, but turns to resemble smeared blood on War. The painful thorns of Spring Flowers on War is replaced by new life on Peace."

Design #7 - Wasp and Moth Nytekrie
"The wasp and the moth. Wasps, of course, can sting repeatedly and are widely agreed to be enemies of humans. Moths, while not the most beloved of creatures, pose no threat to people besides eating sweaters and smacking into light bulbs (Which, I must admit, I'd eat a sweater, too, if I could). Even though I suppose that moths and wasps have never really been into some sort of brutal fight with one another, they are nearly opposites and can be loved or hated by the rest of us."

I'm going to have to go with Numbers 2 and 7. They were both AMAZING and I liked the ideas they used to represent opposites.

I vote #4 and #7!

7 made me laugh with the sweater comment. When the creator is revealed i'll forever imagine them with a sweater dangling from their mouth...plus it's not simply black/red for evil like all the others. I do kinda wish they made more sense and looked more like a moth and wasp, but i gotta say it was hard to pick a unique idea that still fit for this round. Most of us did opposites rather than actual good vs evil, heh.

Wish Ice/Fire had a description, but w/e, i like the simplicity of it.

(i only paid attention to my name on the species list so i really have no clue who is who except for me XD)

Ah, I love 6 and 7!

In 6, I think my favorite thing is that the spring flowers mutation (kinda not sure the name woops) is used on both luporas, but the color choices and gene choices that varied them brought out the contrasts between them. I absolutely love the juxtaposition, yet having the one mutation in common!

For 7, I actually adore what went into the gene coloring here. I love the colors that were put into the female moth. I tend to be picky about using multiple colors on a single pet, as too many colors would make an unpleasant mismatch if one isn't mindful. However, the moth's fun blue and reds were a nice touch to a bug motif, and I like how the genes decorate each Nyte as a whole.

I vote 5 and 7.

I love 7 because it represents a theme I think about constantly - the struggle of the tangible vs. intangible and the question of "What is truly beautiful?"

I love 5 because of the description. By itself, I wouldn't have voted for it, but the description really helped explain the reasoning, and it was very well written.
