I'll vote for #1 and #5.
Number one uses the colours of the picture as well as the atmosphere of it. The Qitari captures "Eastern Dragon" well with the scales, and then, of course, there's the whiskers. (Oh yeah, and I like the tail! I almost didn't see that.)
On number five I almost couldn't tell which was the design and which was the reference image! I seem to be choosing favourites among the whiskered Qitari, but I really do like both of them! This one fits the creature exactly, and I like the use of the zebra pattern to bring texture to its face.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that I didn't forget about this. Been busy with the festival and doctor appointments. I had an appointment early this morning which I'm not back from but I'm exhausted. Votes from this round WILL be counted and the Wildcard Round WILL be posted by tonight. I just need to take a nap. :P

Hello, everyone! So the votes have been tallied and the winners posted on the first page as usual. I felt like this elimination was sort of brutal, but I forgot I was taking out a round and therefore should have eliminated people from the previous round. Anyway, as I keep saying, the eliminated contestants still have a chance to get back into the competition via the Wildcard Round.
The Wildcard Round should be posted shortly. I will be pinging EVERYONE who has participated in the contest, except the first two people eliminated because they did not turn in a design and therefore I don't feel like they actually participated. Thanks to everyone for continuing to be so supportive and enthusiastic, and congrats to the winners. Enjoy your break while we run the Wildcard Round. :)

for 2nd place, you said the Qilin Qitari was created by Gypsycrest19, when the other post shows it was created by Rythm.. just thought you should know :)
