I was just thinking, it would be kind of cool if we could trade up essences.

For example, a player has 2 Regular essences of a given species. They could then upgrade that to an Enhanced essence of that same species. Unless you bought the essence on the trade broker or with diamonds.
I would also think that upgrading to a Mystical essence should take more enhanced essences than just 2, maybe 3 or 4. Again it would not apply to essences bought through the broker or by diamonds.

Sure this sounds like a rather nice idea at first. However it would make a rather huge part of the economy fall apart.

1."only" the regular essence is rather expensive. The lovest I have seen beeing 25k and the most expensive one I have seen beeing 90k. So if you can not use a bought essence to trade up the intrest would drasticly sink, after all, who dont want to trade up?

2. The regular essence is rare and it takes a loong time to aquier one. Specially if you want from a specific species like Nixi, qit and so on. To actually farm them would be incredibly time consuming however not enough time consuming. If you can trade up by beeing patient and keep on tending to eggs/hatchlings why in the world would you pay for a essence? To make it maintain the rarity it has now the mods would have to lower the chance of getting a essence a LOT to prevent a flood of essences from those with a good "essence farming techniq". There are after all ways to garantee wich essence you will get once you get one.

3. The amount of essences needed to upgrade is way to low. Id like to sugest that if this is actually beeing considered that the amount should be raised.
Regular to enhanced: 6 regular.
Enhanced to Mystical: 14/18 enhanced
The high amount is to seriously prevent a way to strong drop in value since it would take a loonger time to gather.

Over all I dont think this is a good idea, it would change way to much and the most notable thing would probably be the economy that would be affected. I can not suport this. Sure it sounds great at first but after thinking about it a bit more I can not suport this, sorry.

I like the idea but I think it should require much more of the essences to create a higher grade essence. There's been talk of a crafting system eventually being added to Sylestia. I can't remember if combined essences have been brought up before or not but it does seem like something suited to the crafting system.

I think people would still buy regular essences. They might cost more but there'll be people who just don't want to farm. Or they might only need one or two more essences to combine into an enhanced. At the same time you'll probably have people that put more energy into farming them for profit.

I'm pretty sure I've read Krinadon saying in the past when something like this came up that the Mystical Essences will never be part of something like this. So he might be willing to allow some way to upgrade from a regular essence to an enhanced, but may not be willing to go from Enhanced to Mystical.

Even so I think this would be a cool idea. I'm personally holding on to regular essences mostly just because Krin and Fai have hinted they will be used for something once the crafting system is set up, but what they will be used for I don't know. There is also the possibility that the upgrade would require something like a mystical gem or something that could either be bought with diamonds or farmed at the end of a dungeon or quest of some kind. Lots of ways this could work.

This will become a part of the game in Revamped Sylestia. It will most likely be a part of the crafting system.
