Starmax's One Year Giveaway!
To think it's already just about been a year since I hit that "sign up" button on this website. I'm glad I did, too! Sylestia has brought me so much happiness - even through the darker times of my life. I'm beyond grateful for the amazing people I've met on here; you all are unique stars - beautiful, captivating, original. I really am glad that Sylestia is around to keep me upbeat & joyful; the welcoming community & selfless acts throughout the website really make it feel like a home to me.

Personality
Though she's often the most stable member and a mentor for Steven, Garnet tends to act on intuition rather than seriously analyze a situation. For the most part, this works out well, but it has lead to some disastrous outcomes. She loses her usual stoic demeanor when Steven began rapidly aging in "So Many Birthdays" and starts violently shaking him, she makes a reckless decision of fusing with Amethyst to form Sugilite in "Coach Steven", and creates an overly-exaggerated story while speaking to Connie's mother over the phone in "Fusion Cuisine".
Garnet's my favourite as she appears as the most mature Gem of the Crystal Gems, the 'de-facto leader' and tends to be the one who aids in breaking up fights. She also gives some great advice :) Furthermore, she seems to be the least annoying one - Amethyst's and Pearl's constant fighting make them rather irritable to me. Also, Garnet's quiet, and that's a trait I like.

Plot
Steven is being carried by Lion to go to the top of the temple and meet Connie for a picnic. Steven is depressed and since Connie wants to know why, Steven tells a story. Amethyst was goofing around the cliff and Steven kept telling Amethyst not to fall off. Amethyst kept messing with Steven, who kept getting scared for her safety every time she did that. She suddenly falls off the cliff and then onto a rock. Steven ran down the cliff as fast as he could and Amethyst showed him her eye hidden behind her bangs that was big and googly. Garnet and Pearl ran to them and tried to get Amethyst to show her gem. Garnet finally revealed Amethyst's gem and discovered it was cracked. Thus, Amethyst got embarrassed and Pearl suggested that they put a fence on the top of the temple.
Steven ended the story but Connie wanted to know what happened to Amethyst. Steven didn't want to tell her then finally agreed to continue, but only if she let him try on Connie's glasses and Connie replied only if he gave her his juice. Steven then continued the story, and it cuts to the gems talking about Amethyst, and according to Pearl and Garnet, Rose Quartz had healing tears and she felt real sorrow when someone was hurt. Steven has the rose quartz gem and said he has the healing powers now. Steven tried to heal Amethyst's gem with tears, but he couldn't cry. Garnet insisted that they go to Rose Quartz's healing spring to heal Amethyst. Amethyst starts to make a weird shriveled face and her face went back to normal (except for the eyeball) but then she started to speak backwards.
They went to the Fountain, but almost everything was covered with brambles of thorns and spikes. Steven tried to cry out some healing tears again but it still wouldn't work. Amethyst said something again backwards but slapped herself, and instead used crying motions.
After realizing Amethyst means to use pain to cry healing tears, Steven attempts to poke himself on nearby thorns. However, the thorns come to life and attempt to attack Steven. Amethyst tackled him out of the way, but this results in her cracking her gem more, causing her head to be swapped with her right foot and for her to be scolded by Pearl for roughhousing. Garnet and Pearl, being oblivious to the thorns being alive, make a path through the wall of thorns. Finding the spring, they see it too has become overgrown, and is no longer flowing healing magic water. Garnet and Pearl leave to find out what stopped the spring, with Amethyst growing worse, being that all her limbs have grown long and thin strings connecting her to her body. Steven, after becoming sad he doesn't know his mother while everyone else does, nearly cries, but doesn't. He and Amethyst are then attacked by the thorns again, so Steven takes the noodle Amethyst into the dry spring.

After growing sad that he can't save Amethyst (and her managing to get out "you, care, about, me") Steven cries, with a tear hitting the broken gem. However, nothing happens immediately, so Steven grows extremely upset.
Then, the spring (which is a statue of Rose Quartz) begins to cry, causing a massive overflow of healing water, causing the thorns to bloom into roses, while Amethyst returns to normal. Steven exclaims to Pearl how his tears caused the spring to be fixed, to which Pearl says Garnet and she did it, and that he will never have any real magic powers, and that they no longer want anything to do with him.
Cutting back to present day, Connie is shocked, and asked if she really said that. Steven says she didn't, but that's how it felt. Connie, telling him he can always come to her, magic or not, leans in for a kiss, only to stop right before, exclaiming she has a headache. After taking her glasses off, she realizes she can see without them. Both being shocked, they realize Steven's juice (which earlier he stated was mostly his spit) healed her. The episode ends with Steven rushing off to the gems to tell them about his new healing saliva ability, while Connie takes the lenses out of her glasses and wears the frames, so that her parents and optometrist would be happy.
It's my favourite episode because of the spring - it's beautiful! Especially the roses. But my favourite part was when Steven's...well.... saliva... heals Connie. Disgusting as it may sound, I still love that part mainly because of the events that follow. (Where Connie 'pops' her glasses and rewears them)

Amethyst is fun and care-free. Loud and full of laughter, she finds everything amusing, but can be very emotional and isn't afraid to act on impulse. She is also shown to be a comic-relief. She has overall bad manners, including chewing with her mouth open and picking her nose. She doesn't like her things to be neat, as shown when Pearl cleans up her room, only for her to make it a mess again in "Together Breakfast" and claims to have a system for it. Her over-protectiveness of her piles of junk in her room, a lot of it which is broken, old and/or useless (like the five-year old burrito she kept until she eventually ate it in "So Many Birthdays"), marks her as somewhat of a hoarder. Her hoarding tendencies once again surface in "Maximum Capacity" where she is unwilling to let Greg throw away anything in his storage unit and ends up bringing most the contents of it back to her room in the Crystal Temple.
She is just way to loud for me. Further, her love for fighting and impulsive nature just irritates me. These traits just make her seem like the least mature of the Crystal Gems, and I don't like it. Her bad manners is another thing that irritate me. Honestly, I just don't like Amethyst....

Plot
The episode begins with a now-scrapped intro with the Crystal Gems introducing themselves. Steven is waiting for the other Crystal Gems to come back from the Crystal Palace. When they arrive, Amethyst shows an Electric Skull to Steven. Pearl slaps it out of Amethyst's hand and smashes it with her foot. Pearl says their Crystal Palace was swarming with the creatures. Amethyst takes the hourglass out of her fanny pack and says that the creatures were after it.
Steven asks if he can see it. Amethyst says he can, but Pearl says no because it is extremely powerful and that they shouldn't have brought it home. Steven tells Garnet to make Pearl let him see it. She shushes him. Steven is disappointed and says that he wants to go on adventures with them next time. He tells them that he wrote a song for the team. He begins to sing We Are The Crystal Gems (which later on turns into the theme song for the improvised show).
Amethyst and Pearl begin to tease him, saying that he will look like a clown if he were to play the song in battle. Garnet tells them to not make fun of Steven and they stop. Pearl explains to Steven that he is too young to come with them, and he doesn't have powers in his gem yet. Steven says he wants to help and Amethyst suggests that he go grab some donuts. She gives him money and he leaves.
When Steven walks outside to go to Big Donut, he learns that Amethyst gave him the Hourglass. He keeps it in his pocket and proceeds to buy donuts. As Steven enters the store, Lars, the cashier, begins to mock Steven. Steven slams his money on the desk and demands to have three donuts. Lars retrieves the donuts and makes fun of Amethyst, Garnet, and Pearl.
Steven says that they save the world and that he is also a Crystal Gem. Lars says that they are all hot girls, and Steven is not. Steven storms out as Sadie tells Lars to lay off. Steven broods about it, and says, 'If I was a hot girl, I wouldn't be talking to you.' He regrets not saying that as it would have been really funny.
His pocket begins to glow and he is back in Big Donut when Lars made the comment. He says the comeback and high fives Sadie. Lars calls him a joke and Steven storms out again. He comes up with another comeback and is again transported through time to say his comeback. Sadie says that Steven is "on fire."
Back at their home, Garnet is saying that she has a bad feeling as Steven walks in. Steven tells them what happened and that The Hourglass took him back in time. Pearl is shocked and asks him why he has it. She turns to Amethyst and asks why she gave it to him. Amethyst says she was letting him see it because he wanted to. Pearl reveals that they had been protecting the hourglass for a thousand years and now that it was activated, it could only be used by Steven for its chosen purpose. Steven tells them it was for comebacks and Amethyst laughs. Garnet notices an Electric Skull outside and alerts the others.
Pearl explains that activating the Hourglass caused holes in the fabric of time and the creature sensed it. Garnet asks Steven why he is such a buttface. Steven is offended by this. Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet retrieve their weapons from their gems and begin to fight the Electric Skull. They are beaten and Steven tries to help them when they fall. They are all down and Steven must think of a comeback to Garnet's comment. He does and is transported back to the moment that Garnet called him a buttface.
He says the comeback and directs the girls to get on top of the Big Donut and hide behind the sign. Steven points out they need to destroy its hair, so they push the sign onto the Electric Skull. It begins to get struck by lightning and eventually dies. Steven wishes he could've told them this morning that 'this clown is gonna save your lives'. The Hourglass takes him back in time to the morning. He tries to stop it, but fails. He smashes it on the ground, preventing the majority of the previous events to occur.
It's my least favourite episode because of one superficial thing - I don't like how the Crystal Gems look like in this episode... And Steven removing his shirt. That aside, I also don't like the Electric Skull which looks weird as heck.

Huh o.0 would you look at that... Apparently our sun is a dwarf and a green-blue star! That's actually pretty cool :D A couple questions: What do you mean by 'edit excessively' and are we allowed to further 'customise'/'personalise' forms, etc...? Also, regarding Option #2, we do not have to actually dye the pet, correct? And Option #3 - explain as in why we like/hate the episode/character?
If a star is big enough, after it goes supernova it can actually turn into a huge, gravity and light eating black hole... Thats one hungry star o-o

Congratz! wow, one year... :D
well, did you know, contrary to popular belief a black hole does not suck in the objects around it. Due to their incredible mass, according to Einsteins general theory of relativity, they actually bend space in such a way that everything within their gravitational field is pushed towards it. A black holes gravitational field is so strong that even light cannot escape it. That ruined some movies.. but anyways XD

I would've loved to sign the birthday card for ya friend, but i wasn't sure if i wanted to sign up. As for the fact on stars A stAr is made out of gas when a star dies it tends to collapse on itself and explode if our sun where to die and explode it would be catastropic considering how big of an importance the sun is
