Hey guys! Cuddly and I have a big ambition we've been planning and dreaming abut for eons now. And that ambition is called PokeWoods!
Ever since we were much younger, we've always wanted to make a virtual pet website called PokeWoods. Not until recently (today lol) have we finally started to put the complete plan in action.
I'm learning to code, bit by bit. Soon we'll (hopefully) be on our way to making PokeWoods. The idea is a pokemon-based roleplay game in a virtual world. We'll be making own pokemon, and I somewhat minor in sprinting, so I'll be doing a lot of the sprites and naming for our pokemon.
Basic Plot:
Once upon a time, every type lived in harmony. Until the types got in skirmishes. No one stopped them, because they thought it would die out eventually. By they, I mean the legendary guardians. There was one for each type, and they lived deep in the castles of each kingdom. But they skirmishes became wars, and soon every kingdom was divided. The guardians tried to stop it, but since they were made for peace, before they could leave their homes, they were turned to stone.
You are a new trainer, just starting out in the region of Elementia. You traveled here from afar, called by something you don't quite know yourself. You start out in the Normal Type Kingdom, with your pokemon, a (not made yet.). You must embark on your journey from here.

This sounds awesome! Good luck coding! Also, remember that having catchpa codes for signing up is a good idea, or you will probably end up being spammed by bots.

Just a few tips on spriting, with the caveat that I am no master spriter and am not pretending to be. Be sure to keep your sprites a uniform size (you seem to be using 42x42, which is a fine size to work with, if a little limiting), and try not to outline in entirely black. Using a gradient based off the color of the sprite will help to lend depth and shading to it, considering the limited number of pixels you can use. Also, you're not limited to a color palette in the same way that Pokemon cartridges are, but having a standard set of colors might help you.
I made some quick sprites of "Howlee", just to show you what I mean. You can have these if you want, but I'm sure you want to use your own work.
