1. Find something that is red.
This is a kalanchoe called flapjacks. It gets this really neat red coloration to the leaves.

That weird looking little blob between the bricks is a mud dauber's nest.

Blueberries! This was a nice surprise plant. Saw it come up I can't remember how long ago and left it because it looked kinda interesting. I had no idea what it was. Then last year it started making fruit for the first time.

It's a rock I thought interesting enough to use in a garden border. (I love rocks in gardens.)

A clumping bamboo. I'm not exactly sure what species but the canes are striped gold and green.

whoa hold on, when i took part, the "Have your username" part was there, but not the "Have The Date on it" part. Does my entry still count, cause I can't really go back and redo some of them after all this time has passed

Thank you for the contest extension! I was right in the process of moving out of my dorm until this week, lol.
1. Find something that is red. The brick around our little garden.
2. Find a yellow flower. Dandelion.
3. Find an animal nest (so a bird nest or squirrel nest etc).
4. Find an ant hill. Yep.
5. Find something hairy. This goober wouldn't quit following me around, he really wanted to be in a picture :P
6. Find something that is translucent.
7. Find a flowering tree.
8. Find a plant starting to grow. A little branch starting to poke out the trunk! I hope this counts.
9. Find a mammal. This is Ed.
10. Find something bumpy. I like the texture on this tree...
11. Find something smooth. I was going to just take a picture of our deck but Morpheus decided to be in the picture, lol.
12. Find something that has 3 different colors on it. Green, yellow, red.
13. Find something that flies. It's hard to see, but it's my neighbor's airplane.
14. Find something that is edible. I wouldn't try to eat this now, but it used to be an apple from one of our apple trees.
15. Find something that is litter (and throw it away!).
16. Find a rock that you think looks interesting. We used to fill the dent on top with water and pretend it was a pool for our dolls when we were kids, lol.

NOTE: I forgot to put the date on my paper when I went to take photos! Please believe me that I went on this walk and took the pictures! I even have the event URL from the group I went with: http://www.meetup.com/Glasgow-outdoor-activity-group-9873280wjXiCCqE/events/221789052/
I took my scavenger hunt photos while hiking the Loch Leven Heritage Trail here in Scotland. Unfortunately ant hills seemed particularly difficult to find (I didn't see a single ant!) at this time of year in the wet weather. Maybe they all got washed away...
1. Find something that is red.
This is a throwing line in case anyone falls into the Loch or is drowning or needs rescue!
2. Find a yellow flower.
This gorgeous yellow-flowered bush grows wild all over Scotland. Its common name is Broom.
3. Find an animal nest (so a bird nest or squirrel nest etc).
A bunch of birds nests all near each other!
4. Find an ant hill.
None to be found!
5. Find something hairy.
I love this hairy, tree-dwelling lichen species! They're very soft to pet :)
6. Find something that is translucent.
The flash on the camera disguises how translucent the petals of these flowers were. You can sort of see through them, they're so papery thin.
7. Find a flowering tree.
These lovely white flowers were all over the trees!
8. Find a plant starting to grow.
A whole bunch of seedlings were just sprouting up in this bare patch of dirt.
9. Find a mammal.
A freshly sheared sheep -- they look funny without any wool. I also found one with its big fluffy coat still intact.
10. Find something bumpy.
Doubly bumpy: weathered stone and bubbly, rough lichens.
11. Find something smooth.
These bush leaves were the smoothest, shiniest things -- the photo doesn't do them justice.
12. Find something that has 3 different colors on it.
This tree trunk had three different colours of lichen on it!
13. Find something that flies.
These swans weren't flying when I saw them, but all the other flying birds I saw wouldn't sit still for a photo. These guys were happily eating young shoots in a field.
14. Find something that is edible.
There was an entire field of canola alongside the trail. This is of course used to make canola oil, which is great for cooking!
15. Find something that is litter (and throw it away!).
I found and threw out a lot of litter on the hike, but forgot to take any photos :(
16. Find a rock that you think looks interesting.
The dark grey, long rock had the most beautiful specks of colour and shiny crystal chunks in it. I couldn't get a photo that captured its beauty very well, though, so this is as good as I managed.
17. Find something taller than you.
These conifers were SO tall. Definitely taller than me!
18. Find a feather.
This is from one of the swifts that heavily populate the waterfront areas of the trail.
19. Find some animal tracks.
At least two sizes of pawprints here!
20. Find an insect (don't kill it :) ).
I found a very shiny beetle sitting on some wild mint plants.

Alright I turned this into an epic nature adventure for me and my kiddos. They had so much fun. <3
1. Find something that is red.
My sons tricycle. Little sun faded in places but red.
2. Find a yellow flower.
My kids babysitter grows yellow roses.
3. Find an animal nest (so a bird nest or squirrel nest etc).
In my porch in the light fixture. There isn't a light bulb on that side.
4. Find an ant hill.
We found bunches during our nature adventure!!!
5. Find something hairy.
One of my kitty cats. Her name is Brat.
6. Find something that is translucent.
Pretty puddle totally turned kid and splashed in it
7. Find a flowering tree.
Pretty and made the air smell good.

3. Find an animal nest (so a bird nest or squirrel nest etc). This is an old mockingbird? nest.
4. Find an ant hill. This is the only pic I could get where the name card would show up, but yes, this is a red ant hill from my front yard.
5. Find something hairy. My dog's tail should suffice!
6. Find something that is translucent.
7. Find a flowering tree. These pics are of a crepe myrtle tree (white blooms) and a small june rose tree (pink blooms).
8. Find a plant starting to grow.
9. Find a mammal. My dog!
10. Find something bumpy.
11. Find something smooth.
12. Find something that has 3 different colors on it.
13. Find something that flies. A pair of love bugs.
14. Find something that is edible. This is baby Persimmon...it's not delicious (yet) but it's edible!
