I hope I'm not potentially messing with anyone's collecting by suggesting this, but I want to suggest not having rainbow traits naturally in themes. (They could still be mutated in if desired.) It's because I think the rainbow traits often clash with the theme colors. However, I don't know if others feel this way or not.

I'm going say I absolutely know where this suggestion is coming from, but for it to be fair you'd have to also take out three different traits from Bulbori. Because the genes for g2 besides iridescent are all set colours and could clash with themes.

So I'm going to have to say that this wouldn't be fair, and although it would probably make themes a little more cohesive, I don't think that the rainbow traits really negatively impact much. For the really unfitting ones it just makes it kind of funny.

So in short: I don't support this suggestion, although I do think it makes sense.

I understand where this is coming from, for sure. Rainbow traits are becoming more and more numerous (coughnixicough) and I'm personally not huge on them at all. However, as Tropy said, the rainbow traits aren't really a huge problem. I sell all of the rainbows I catch, and never buy new ones showing anything rainbow.

I'd written a huge thing on how this is a much bigger problem with wheel pets because of their rarity, but then I remembered that the wheel is gone :p

Either way, check out this silly rainbow MCC nixi.

lol, I guess maybe I'm the odd man out, but I actually get a chuckle out of the rainbow genes on the themed pets. In a couple of instances, I've seen people in Fai's suggestion threads specifically use a rainbow trait to show off how well their design works with them, which I think is an even better idea personally.

For me, I like rainbows, and I like the rainbow traits, so I don't mind keeping them in. All the named themed pets have certain traits that just look funny on them... look at the Leaf Veins mutation on the Coal Griffi. But some people like these, some people don't. If you don't like the trait, just trade it off for one you do like, same as anything else. I'm doing that now with all the armor in slot 5 on many of my griffi, and the two tribal mutations on them. They seem to quickly take over my lineages if I don't ruthlessly weed them out.

So essentially... while I get the point, I don't think it's necessary. If you don't like a trait, just find someone that does, or doesn't care.

I totally agree that the rainbow colors clash! XD

But i also have to agree that it makes more sense to leave the rainbow genetics in play with themes as it doesn't really make sense to negate certain genes but not others.

So while i dont like my PBs having rainbow traits, i think taking them out could be problematic. Especially since i assume most pets are made with a random generator. it makes things 'less random' i suppose.

Though this is understandable, I'm going to say we should keep these.

As people above me said, some people like them, some don't. If you don't want them, sell or release them. It's no biggie and a problem with people's preferences. For instance, I don't like Plague Armor on Nytekries, or Battle Armor on Ny'venes. But some people like those mutations. What if I were to say: "Get rid of armors on sylesties because it ruins their complexion." It would be like saying that. Everyone has their preferences, and just because you don't like it, doesn't mean no one else does. Besides, it can look good with some designs, or even wild found pets. (And how would we make Rainbow Dash otherwise? :3)

So, this might not be a popular suggestion, but now that we have the nullification philter, which allows you to remove traits you don't like, there's no reason to artifically limit which traits show up in themed pets. If you don't like them, remove them! Yes, it might be a bit heartbreaking to reduce the number of traits on a rare or exclusive themed pet, but if you're that set against them, you have a way to fix it now.
