The Pet Lineage page has been released! You can access a pet's lineage by clicking the "View Lineage" button on its profile page.



On the Lineage page, you can view some basic information about the pet, its offspring, its full siblings (same mother and father), and a tree of its past 3 generations (parents, grandparents, and great grandparents).

Additionally, Themed Pets will have a golden star next to their name to indicate that it's a Themed Pet. This should be useful for those looking for 'purebred themed offspring' pets.

Lastly, you can view the Inbreeding Coefficient of a pet. Atm, the server is chugging away calculating this for all of the pets retroactively. Last I checked, it still had about 400,000 pets to go and is calculating them at a rate of about 30,000 per hour. However, as it goes in order of bred pets, it slows down as it finds pets with more and more lineage history. So most likely the rate will slow down over time. Hopefully within a few days it will be able to have all of the pets calculated.

Once it's caught up, it should be able to calculate a newly bred pet's coefficient within a few minutes of the pet being created - at least for the foreseeable future.

Edit regarding Inbreeding Coefficient:

Ran into an issue calculating the inbreeding coefficient and had to make some adjustments. Because of this, all pets already calculated with an inbreeding coefficient higher than 0% have been queued to be recalculated.

At this point, during the calculation, the script only looks back 12 generations. Beyond that, it ignores common ancestors. In the vast majority of instances, this will amount to less than a 0.01% difference in the final percentage. In the cases where it will affect pets, those pets are already at like 50% inbred anyway so a half percentage point difference won't really matter lol.

Hopefully, the script will be able to chug on without problem and finish in the next day or two.

Out of curiosity, what does % inbreeding do, if anything?

(also I was nooting around the lineage page of one of my project ladies and the offspring page shows the gender of an egg before it hatches. I'm not sure if this is necessarily worth fixing, but there you go.)
