I have added a Re-Generation Preview to all Faelora Pet Profile pages. Players can take a look and click the link to load a page that will display what specifically is happening to that Faelora's Traits after the Revamp goes live. It will look something like this:



The list of Traits at the bottom indicate the options that this Faelora will have after the Revamp is live. In some cases, like their G1, their only option for the Visible Trait will remain Okapi. Therefore, it's highlighted in red to indicate that this will be locked on the Pet; there won't be any other option to choose so this Trait will just remain as is.

However, if you look at the M1 slot, this Pet will now have two options for the Visible Trait. Therefore, their M1 will be removed and this Pet's owner will be able to utilize the Re-Generated to choose which Visible Trait that they want for the M1 slot.


The Re-Generator itself is also getting a makeover and is being upgraded to Version 3! Players will now be able to choose a Pet's Traits AND Colors all in one interface and at one time. Here is a preview of what the Re-Generator will look like:




If anyone notices anything odd or that doesn't make sense with a Faelora's Re-Generation preview, please let me know so that I can take a look. It's a very complicated script, so it would not surprise me if it's not perfect lol. If I can be made aware of any logical issues ahead of time, it will make the Revamp process go that much smoother. Thanks!

Just so you're aware, the re-generation preview can be used to see what hidden/carried traits a pet has even if it has not been genetically tested. For example, this pet:

He hasn't been tested so you can't see any of his carried traits, but when you go to his regeneration preview here:

You can see exactly what his two carries are.

In that preview it looks like that Fae is going to lose vine flowers completely even though it is a compatible carry because it says it's locked in as vis and carry. Will that also happen with hiddens that are no longer in the same slot as their locked vis, they'll disappear? Here's just a few of mine that would have that issue:

Another thing that's popped up is where the vis and carried traits are split into two traits post revamp but it seems to have randomly chosen to lock in one of the two possible carry choices into the slot the original trait was in.

So it looks like some of my pets will be losing a hidden slot entirely.

But with revamp preview, the only recessive traits available will be in G1.

HID - G1 - D - Jurassic
HID - G1 - G - Numbat

There's nothing I can Regen as a hidden in G2 to match what she is now, and she'll be losing one of the traits overall.

From: Okapi, Jurassic, Leaf Impression, and Numbat

To: I completely lose either Jurassic or Numbat, and G2 is now a pure-vis without a hidden trait.


Edit: Aww. This also happened with my first 6V for the theme. She'll go from 2 recessives to just 1 recessive and lose a trait, too.

Yea. It's kind of inevitable. The information will be displayed anyway when someone goes to Re-Generate their pets. The only alternatives would be to either hide information that the player then loses because they don't know it exists and it's not shown, or forcing everyone to test their pets before being able to use the Re-Generator. I don't think either of those would be a good idea. So the only alternative is just that people can see all the genetic data as if the pet's are tested.

Since it's just a one-time thing here, I think it's okay and won't have much of a global effect.

I do appreciate the heads up though.

I can look to see if I can get it to where... similar to how Visible/Carried works atm, where it will let you choose any eligible Hidden Traits for a Trait Slot with an existing Hidden Trait if, after Revamp, you otherwise don't have any Hidden Trait options for that Trait Slot anymore.

So... say your pet is M1 AG right now. Post Revamp, it will be M1 AA with the option of picking ND for M2. Well, if there's no Trait Points to do that, you can't do that so the Pet is just stuck at AA and loses the Hidden Carried. This is basically the situation you guys are showing.

So I can try and edit the script to detect this situation and allow the player to choose any eligible replacement Hidden Carried for the M1 Trait Slot.
