I think the changes to mystical essences are really nice. Divine essences are kind of a letdown, though.

Divine essences as they currently work don't really have much appeal. The pets are generated infertile with nothing special about them. They're 3v max, have no special stats, and you still need to chuck disruptors at them if you want any res traits. They have no use in projects, being infertile, so the most you can get out of them is one pretty 3v.

Everything else aside, I think having any essence tier generate an infertile pet is strange. All other essences have the primary function of being a starting point for projects, or at least making a breeding pair. For 4k diamonds, you could buy 3 mystical essences and 2 rtds, and start up a 6v project with 2 res traits. And if you bought 2 divine essences instead for the same price, you could get... 2 infertile 3v pets with no res traits. Divine essences come out less useful than mystical essences despite being a higher tier of the same category.

I think divine essence pets should be fertile, but not allowed to have carried traits. There would be no issue of having 6c pets right off the bat, but they'd still be useful. I think they should also have one free res trait, since they're double the price of mystical essences.

I absolutely agree to this.

The only thing that currently would make me buy a Divine Essence is that they look fancy, but the pet itself is - sadly - nothing I would be going for.

I guess I can understand why having 1st-generation 6c pets is not ideal for the market as it creates instant possibilities for 6v offspring, but making them infertile just renders the essences nearly pointless.

Some suggestions for changes:
- Make them not infertile
- Divine-generated pets can only be bred to other divine-generated pets
- restrict them to only 3 visible, no carries allowed. [This might as well already be a rule since there's not much point in generating infertile pets with carries anyways?]

Alternatively, change divine essences entirely. Perhaps make them 2v only, infertile, but with max stats (and maintain the restricted trait rule) so that they're like 2v dream pets that require RTDs for restricted traits. I dunno... as it stands I see very little point in spending the equivalent of $20 of diamonds on a 3v pet that is entirely unusable for breeding and not that practical for battling.


Also, if the change in restricted traits was meant to address the suggestion a while back that players should have more control over RTDs, the essences do nothing whatsoever to help with restricted traits on existing pets or themed projects ._. Essences aren't highly sought after in the first place; regular essences go for less than 10k on the broker. I think the vast majority of players would agree that themed pets or purebred projects are more valuable - that's what most players seek or sell.

Like, yeah, understandable why the 6tp essence isn't fertile, but also 100% agree that the divine essences are uh,,, how to say, entirely underwhelming as-is, especially with the new mystic essence update in place.
What you get out of a divine essence you can get out of a pair of mystical essences but the mysticals can do it better in a mere one generation separation from the parents (being that the mystical offspring could a- have higher stats, b- potentially be up to 4v (or 6c), and c- wouldn't be infertile)

so, yes.
I'd say either
a) make them max stat, or st the very least high-stat in some way, rather than having the same old enhanced/mystical-tier stats, thus making them something people would consider using as a battle pet, and completely justifying their being infertile that way
or
b) as posited, make them so they can be fertile but have vis traits only, putting them on par with a 3v Legendary wild, just custom-made and with slightly better stats

would possibly be the best options to make them more appealing?

Because currently the only real use of a divine generated pet is like. As a showcase pet? Which is pretty weird considering essences are basically meant to be start-a-project fodder.

I was actually going to make a thread like this until I saw yours! But yes I highly agree. Seeing the divine essences was a huge disappointment considering the price versus what you're getting out of it. I genuinely don't see a reason as to why players would even consider buying them since they have no appeal.

At a whopping 4,000 diamonds, equivalent to about $40 dollars it's absolutely insane! Who would pay something like that for a pet you can't even breed and doesn't have any special stats. There's seriously no pros to buying these essences, only cons.

IF they're going to be sold infertile, they need to be max stats and if not, at the very least, higher end stats. And I'm talking stats 70+.

I think it's silly though to make them infertile in the first place. Essences are used to start up projects and divine essences would help significantly with them. I get not wanting to make a 6 carry pet, that would be too easy. But like you mentioned, they could easily make it a code that Divine Essences can only generate 3 vis pets and nothing else.

I really hope they do change the divine essences because as it is now, I don't think anyone will be buying them.

As a max stat breeder i think the divine essences giving a 3v infertle pet with max stats would be perfectly fine for me. People typically dont pay 2k dias for max or supers even so it would have to be a special design to make them create it. I just dont see the value behind infertile generated pets unless they are max stats

^Agree with both the sentiments and alternatives expressed above. I just don't see people wanting to pay that many dias for an infertile 3v pet, without any special stats, etc. It feels like a bit of a waste.

This conversation got me thinking of a strange thought. I know that there was an idea a long time ago that people could slowly raise up a single pet's base stats by battling enough through the Lost Grove. I think that idea was shelved because it could discourage the work of super stat breeders? Am I remembering this correctly? What if this could still work though but only for infertile pets such as the divine essence made ones? This could work with the suggestion others put out that perhaps the divine essence pets could start out with better stats at the very least. If these pets were eligible for some sort of enhancements that would be difficult to get otherwise but at great expense, would that balance things out?

May or may not be explaining this idea well enough. I didn't get much sleep last night.
