Hello there ;-;

I imagine if you're here you're a teenager or adult obsessed with kids shows, specifically those rated lower than TV-14.

I get hyperfixed on cute things incredibly easily, to the point where I'll spend days where all my free time is spent on whatever show I started most recently. I guess I kinda just wanted to make this thread so people like me could chat about our favorite TV-Y7 shows XD

I guess as something of a conversation starter, what do you guys like to see in a kids show? Personally, I really like realistic storytelling- characters that feel alive and real, which I find preferable to other character designs targeted at kids where they seem a lot more outlandish and fantastical (which is interesting, as I'm a fantasy writer who enjoys primarily sci-fi and fantasy media :'> ). I think I just like to feel like these people are real, even if their circumstances clearly aren't.

Another thing I recently noticed is that often (but not always >.>) kid's shows aren't nearly as dark as those made for more mature audiences- and that can be pretty refreshing.

I'll be adding more to this later ^ ^

Honestly though, sometimes I just get so tired of the gore and crude screenings *shrug* That's why I tend to stick with lower ratings, just not interested in watching things like that. I really like batman cartoons for example. No blood, no language, safe to watch around kiddos. (2007)

I get that, for sure. Honestly, when I'm in the mood for gore I'm in the mood for gore, and when I'm not I'm not. *shrug*
When I need to escape from problems the last thing I need is worse problems being depicted in my escapism xd

some kind of logical plot is nice. (E.g. mickey mouse clubhouse refers back to things so there's a sort of continuous storyline, same with Odd Squad)

Theres a lot of kids' shows that I *thoroughly* enjoy. I especially love steven universe, She-ra [the reboot], The owl house, and infinity train

The first and last ones deal really great with mental health, and is overall very interesting to watch. They have cool stories, but the characters [especially in infinity train] feel like they are/could be *real* people.

the middle two just have great representation :p, SU also has good rep, and they all have really good character designs :p
