"Are you okay?" Rin says quickly, not sure if Kanashimi/Hitari/whoever's in there is able to answer.
His eyes open a little more, registering your question. With the tiniest movement, he shakes his head "no".
Hm, how long has it been, Itami ponders. Not quite a century, that's for sure. . .
Shiawase, suddenly realizing what's going on, walks over and puts herself between Hitari (Kanashimi) and Itami, shooing Itami to the side, which he does silently.
She pokes his shoulder gently. "Uhm, Kanashimi. . .?"
He makes a weird sound - somewhere between a gasp for breath and a groan. Kanashimi did say he hadn't done this for a long time.

His hand twitches, but nothing else really happens.
Nice. Can't even move, Itami mutters. How about I do it for - ah, it's not like you can answer.

This is pathetic, Itami says, walking around Shiawase. He roughly grabs Kanashimi (Hitari) by the shoulder and shakes him. Hey. Hey. At least open your eyes. It's basically the same to do that as it is normally.
. . .I. . .don't know if I want to, Kanashimi thinks. I know everything's going to be off. . .
"He's alive, at the very least," Shiawase murmurs. "That's something. . ."

Geez, it's not that hard, Itami mutters. He slaps their face repeatedly, but not with too much force. At least try.
Kanashimi cracks open their eyes a little bit, but then quickly shut them again, shaking their head slightly.
Good enough, I guess.
Shiawase walks up to Kanashimi's side. "Kanashimi, you need to get up. . .it's not going to help your breathing if you stay slouched and sitting like that."
You. . .make it sound easy, Kanashimi thinks. . . .it's been far too long since I've done any of this. Since I had a body to inhabit.
