Children were told not to go near him, lest some kind of curse fall on them and make their family vanish. Adults told stories to each other of seeing him torture animals, watching them struggle until they fell limp. And over the years he grew up, the cycle was constant. Until, well. . .someone decided they didn't like a story walking free in their village.

Maybe he's been yearning for the day someone asks him to tell a story. Who knows?

Guards were sent after Hitari with promise of good pay - greed is quite the motivator. But they never came back. . .days before, he had felt something pulling at him. Following it, he found something ancient from the beginning of this world: one of its concepts, Chaos. Chaos whispered delightful secrets to the child, who listened eagerly. Someone was finally talking to him, and they promised to stay with him forever.

"Chaos. . ." Shiawase murmured. "One of the Old Lords of this land. . ."

"Itami, you're. . ." Hitari sighs. "You're making everything seem way bigger, or way smaller, than it was. Stop overexaggerating this bit."
