One day, she'll realize, Kanashimi mutters. . . .I just wonder what'll happen when she does. . .

"Curious? The only things that would kill him out here are you and the cold!" Shiawase exclaims. "And he certainly doesn't look frozen!"

"Shia, please calm down," Hitari says, looking nervous. "This is getting a little - "

She lets go of him and storms off, going into the broken house.

" - out of hand. . ." he finishes, sitting down on the ground.

Rin gulps. Hitari was too unpredictable. If Shiawase realized he and Itami were not the same and somehow didn't..... like him anymore..... Rin couldn't even imagine.

"Ugh," Hitari sighs, lying on the ground. "'Fourty-one years'. . .yeah right. . ." He pulls the knife out of his pocket and just stares at it.

I don't know if I want to tell him she wasn't kidding. . . Kanashimi says. It has been that long. . .

"Yikes," Rin whispers. "Somehow I think that wouldn't go over well."

Oh, d-definitely not! Kanashimi replies. Shiawase would probably feel betrayed. . .Hitari. . .well, I can't really speak for him, but. . .he'd probably not be very pleasant. . . They throw their hands up. Neither of them really seem to cope with being alone well, if you ask me. . .

Hitari idly flips the blade open and shut, looking. . .empty.

Kanashimi feeds Felix the last mouse.
