She started to walk back some going around the water

She comes out to a wide, empty plain of wispy grass. There's absolutely nothing out here but the cave, which is inside a small hill.

A gentle wind is on her face. . .as is the light of the orangish-red sun.

You can hear scratching. Sounds like whatever's back there is responsible for killing the pup's mother, and all those marks on the rocks.

"Uh. . .okay. . ." he says.

Hitori dries the knife on his jeans and puts it back in his pocket, sighing.

He looks back at Rin. "You want to go, don't you. . .?"

You wake up. . .in a tree. No, really. You're sitting on a large branch, with your back to the trunk, almost thirty feet above the ground.

Peeking down, you know just jumping down would hurt a bit.

She looked around for anything to defend herself

looking around and yawning, now realizing he can't jump down he looks for a way to climb down, his super long hair catching sticks and leafs while he looked around

'This is definitely not near my cave...' She turned into her dragon form and flew up to get a better view.
