This story features death and nudity; however it is not vivid or graphic whatsoever as it's implied and there's not description. I still feel it stays pretty pg. If anyone takes issue with the content let me know and it can be adjusted. The story is meant to start with short commanding language and work it's way to more descriptive language. :) Not sure anyone will enjoy it that way, but it allows you to see how the story you imagined or where you imagined it going stacks up I guess. ^^"
Song #5
The crowd watched as the beating of wings came to a stop. The divine creature had come down from the skies and settled atop the bastion. Sweeping word of the omen summoned the citizens into the streets. Mothers beamed. Fathers held their wives. Children celebrated. The day had come for the reunion.
A woman exhibiting power and beauty emerged on a balcony. She took off her crown and shed her elegant robes. She tossed her luxuries to the crowd. There was no shame here. The woman bared all, but wore dignity and the respect of those who adored her. She spoke with them - every tactful word granting them the virtues they so graciously bestowed upon her. Doors below the balcony opened. One after one, the people filed in. They took seats at her tables and were fed a feast only fit for the gods.
A mother called after her child. She had taken off towards their hostess. A look of shock was upon the mother's face as the girl wrapped herself around the woman's leg. But, the woman smiled. She picked up the little one. The girl giggled and presented her with a gift - a crafted necklace - at its middle, an owl pendant. The woman kissed her forehead and shooed her back off to the festivities to have fun.
As the night began to die down the number of people dwindled. Those who had fallen asleep in hall were left undisturbed. The woman rose from her chair and began her journey. She left through the doors where she looked upon the bird that called to her. The two met eyes. And though she was quick to look away, she could feel its stare as she walked the streets.
The woman left the familiar walls she had guarded for so long and began a trek up a nearby hill. She savored everything. The feeling of the grass beneath her feet. Winds that brushed against her skin. The silence as the last of those within the falls fell to sleep. The woman rested upon the ground. She kept a watchful eye on her home until the stars had faded from the sky.
The woman stood up as the sun illuminated the landscape; her shadow cast itself across the city. It was a bittersweet scene. The bird could be seen preening it's feathers in the light. She beckoned the creature to fly to her. A screech rang out against the silence as it took off in her direction. She took her final moments to tie the gift from the little girl around her neck. It was a simple trinket, but gentle reminder. The massive bird perched itself upon her shoulders, wrapping it's talons around her out stretched arms.
The beautiful creature spread it's fiery wings. With a few powerful beats, it flew off into the sky. Fires rained down upon the city. The buildings, the people, every trace of their existence was reduced to ashes. The necklace around the woman's neck erupted in flames and dropped into the wreckage below.
It raced toward the heavens, but the woman couldn't tear her eyes away from the scene. The powerful phoenix carried her high above the clouds and dropped her at a mountains peak. The woman folded over, tears streaming from her face. But, as the woman cried, rains began to pour on the scene below. The remaining fires were extinguished and smoke cleared the air.
A man approached her. "You must think me cruel to banish my daughter to the earth below. To experience things few of our peers dare to. But never let the bad spoil the good - for it has afforded you wisdom, Athena. The chance to live among whom and what you govern. To learn the lessons offered by mortal life. You knew this day would come and you have dealt with it with such grace. An entire city, you commanded. Despite knowing their fate, they loved you fiercely and were loyal to the end. You truly understand love and pain and you are stronger for it. Life starts anew in your city. Rise from the ashes with them. Spread your love and knowledge to all those across Greece. Humble them as your time below has humbled you."
The woman took the hand of her father and the two walked to the edge of the clouds. There she watched as new plant life began to emerge from the soil. "Take your time with your decision, but I believe this belongs to you." Her father handed her a gift before heading into the clouds. The woman wiped the tears from her eyes to see the owl necklace gifted to her by the little girl. She kissed it softly and tied it around her neck, before taking her own place among the clouds. Despite her pain, a chance at making the world as beautiful a place as the city she called home, was a risk worth taking.

Song Number-10
(This is based off of a story I'm writing with my friend.)
It was a warm night, with stars speckling the sky. The breeze blew gently through the trees, causing the forest to smell like fresh fruit and rich earth. It was a perfect night for dancing.
Two figures walked along a beaten road, wearing simple peasant clothes. It seemed to be normal dress, except for the fox-like masks covering their faces. One of the travelers was fairly tall, with long blond hair that seemed to look like a sheep's fur. Their mask was large, the fox being a dusty golden color with massive ears.
The second one was smaller, with short brown hair. Their mask was smaller, the fox red with nicks in the ears. It seemed to be old, as the paint was chipping, and looked a rather muddy color, unlike their companion's mask.
"Eloi. Keep up." The taller one chided, turning to look back at Eloi, the brown-haired scribe.
"Shut your filthy trap, Abraham. You have no right to talk to me like that." Although it wasn't seen, a scowl was formed on Eloi's face.
"Fine." Abraham said, breaking out into a run. "We want to make it to Redfield for Bruin's trial, ay?"
"Of course we do!" A laugh pierced Eloi's words as he followed Abraham. "Can't wait to see him weep! We'll have to tell Medard, and Gervais! They'll never forget it!"
The two raced through the birch and oak, laughing and whooping loudly, scaring off the deer and birds nearby. In the inky darkness, several pinpricks of light could be seen, belonging to the citadel of Redfield.
Soon, the two made it to Redfield, panting and gasping for breath. Abraham's foot was bloody, as he had stumbled on a sharp stone. He'd stopped to clean it, but it was hasty, and covered in flecks of dirt.
They managed to make it through the guarding walls, and into the main city. The streets were empty, all the citizens having gone to sleep. The two could hear loud laughing coming from many pubs, bringing noise into the otherwise quiet streets.
"Do you think Berangere arrived?" Eloi asked, walking into the maid's hallway, a stone passageway leading out from the castle.
"I don't know." Abraham said, ducking his head. "Do you think it's safe to unmask now?"
"Yes, it is. Hello, Abraham. Hello, Eloi." A voice said. It was a older girl, with long black hair. She was wearing a red dress, and carrying a snow white mask in her left hand.
"Ah, hello Aurelia. Have you seen Berangere?" Abraham said as he slid off his mask, revealing one sky blue eye, the other milky white, showing blindness.
"Yes. Have you seen them?" Eloi asked, shaking his head. He turned his pine-colored eyes to Aurelia's dark ones.
"Berangere is in the waiting hall. Hurry now, please. Bruin's heading there now. Cleline, Nastacha, and Florentin came along, too. They will stand with him."
Muttering angrily, Abraham strode after Aurelia. "I can't wait to see Bruin be set fire..."
"Calm now, Abraham. The trial must begin first." Aurelia spoke softly, pushing open a door. It was the trial room. In the center, stood a large man with a bearing mask covering his face.
"It's Bruin." Eloi said quietly, as they took their seats. "See, there's Cleline." He pointed to a young blonde girl, who scowled at Eloi.
The Judge banged his gavel on the stand. "Let the trial of Bruin the Sixclawed commence..."

XP Finally writes something, and it turns out to be shorter than everyone else's. I think. Oh well. I can only write poems when I listen to music.
