This is nice! It looks like it's older than the previous version, more mature as well. Also, it's made my green leopard spotted candy apple qitari look amazing! (I thought it looked ridiculous when I first got it, but then it grew on me, and I've kept it in my main party ever since. Only problem is I still can't think of a name...)

OK, now I need dyes...sigh...on the other hand, the mares look more lively, and the stallions look more grown-up.

On the subject of wings, none of our winged Qitari, before or after, could possibly fly with their wings (sez the bachelor's in zoology). Therefore, something else gives a flying Qitari the power of flight. Psionics? Magic?

Point is, the wings, IMO, represent the ability to fly. They do not have to function. They may not even be "real." Suppose Qitari flight is psionic and has the side effect of projecting the illusion of beautiful, but token, wings? They would look like, move, and attach in the manner the individual Qitari imagines that they ought to. ("These wings should have...flames coming off them! Yeah, that's it!")

I mean, you might as well ask where the water for the Kelpari mane comes from.

Finally, the limitations of the medium trump everything. For my 2, Fai and Krin, you are going above and beyond to consider looking at wing adjustments. Props to you!

PS I've decided to turn my Most Improved Qitari thread in Unofficial Contests into an actual contest, with small prizes--small because I've never run a contest in Sylestia before.

The new design looks amazing! The artist (artists?) did a fantastic job even to the smallest details like setting the Spring Flowers on fire when in combination with Fire Mane. I loved the Draeyl and Vulnyx revamp but this might be my favorite one yet.

I don't have that many Qitaris so I can't comment much about the changes in the design of the traits but I'm a bit sad that you decided to change the colors in the Turtle Shell Scales gene. I have two Reindeer Qitaris with that gene and I had planned on starting a project with them since it looked a bit like snowflakes. Well, I guess I'll use Snowflake Runes now.

As for the wing placement, it doesn't bother me at all. It seems a bit pointless to ask for real world logic when talking about creatures that look like mammals but lay eggs, can have up to six limbs and can set their hair on fire without suffering any damage. As far as I'm concerned, if Qitaris fly they do it with magic, so the wings are just ornamental.

Ooooooooooooh my looooooooooooooooord they all look incredible!! I have an entire stable full of Qitaries, plus many more and I just, wow, they look amazing!!

My only issue is that two of my favorite traits are now just... Not my favorites. I really dislike the shape of the feathered wings (mostly on the males), and the Satyr horns don't really look like horns anymore, they look like tentacles. Unfortunately both of my starters and a very large portion of my stables have one or both of those traits, but oh well, I guess I'll figure something out.
(Also I feel like Double Fade should just be Faded Scales or something, because the fade isn't really double anymore since it doesn't affect the legs, but it still looks cool.)

Glad someone else likes it. I'm not a huge fan of how much the scales cover now.... But some of the traits do look pretty awesome now. :)

More feedback past my original "yay new project":

1. Iridescent scales don't have a very visible outline. I mean, I know you don't want a black line outside each scale, but it looks a bit off because the outline is so pale, specifically on the qitari's back. It's too pale/thin/contrasting to see the line on the back, and it just doesn't really fit imo. (I'm not wording this too well, sorry.) I like the scales, but would like an outline on the backs.

2. Previously, I couldn't stand fire mane but I loved icicle mane. Now, I love fire and nebular, but I'm kind of meh on icicle. Overall, very satisfied with the mane improvements. And I love the star runes--hope to see them on even more species at some point, if possible.

3. Any thoughts on making the white color around nebular mane take on the mutation 2 color? I'd love to use it in another project, but it just doesn't fit with what I want without being able to do that.
