The way he says Isorin's name gives me highkey chills XD) Rin, heart pounding, curses his stupidity and shortsightedness. He runs his mind through all possible spells he could use to defend himself or, better yet, escape.

Hitari just stands there, energy still pulsing from him as he laughs a little. "Heh."

He drives his sword's blade into the ground, leaning against the hilt. "You know, we. . .we were careful. We were never with each other among mortals that weren't going to die. To everyone, she was just. . .an energy. Something unseen and unnamed that granted their desires. So, tell me - " He raises his hand, a small black orb swirling into life above his palm.

" - how have you never met Shia, but know of her?"

(....exactly like that! Yes! XD)
Because you told me! Rin thinks, but he can't get the words out, and winds up opening and closing his mouth (like a goldfish XD)

"Eh, I guess it doesn't matter," Hitari says, shrugging. "Because, you know - "

His eyes widen. He moves fast - you can barely see what he does, but he grabs his sword and quickly dashes it in a wide arc behind him.

A shadowy figure stumbles back, its form split in two in a curved pattern. In its wispy hand appears to be something sharp.

Hitari sticks his sword back in the ground. "Wow, you're. . .not as creative as you used to be, Itami. Usually you try harder than just. . .sneaking up behind me. Even villagers knew better."

Itami just stares at him silently. His gaze turns to you (you know because you're washed with cold), then back.

I've done you a favor, his voice whispers to you on the wind. You. . .just don't know it yet.

Itami shrugs (as much as a shadow can). Not really anything anymore. . .just bored. He chuckles. What can I say, I missed the old days. I'm sure that. . .you'll like them too.

Hitari glances between you two. "Are you having a conversation without me?" He draws his sword yet again, slapping Itami with the flat of the blade.

Ow. . . Itami mutters. None of your business, vessel. . . He wisps away.

Hitari plops his sword down. He throws the orb he's been holding straight into the air, where it promptly explodes at the peak of its launch. "Shia'll see that. And then she'll come back. . ."

Rin turns and tries to make a run for the woods. He doesn't know who Shia is, but if she liked Itami, then he didn't want to stick around to find out.

Far, far away, Shiawase stands up, looking in the direction of the forest under the cliff. "Itami. . ." she whispers.

. . .are you sure it wasn't your imagination? Kanashimi asks. I didn't see anything. . .

Shiawase glares at Kanashimi, who quickly shuts up. She turns her eyes back. "If that was my imagination, it's being overactive. I'm going there."

She bounds to the rocky edge overlooking the trees, and jumps off without hesitation, landing without pain on the dead grass. Kanashimi floats down with her.

"Ah - where do you think you're going?" Hitari demands, giving chase. "I've never seen Itami give someone favor like that." His sword contracts, returning to the small pocket knife, which he stuffs into his pocket.

As he runs, shadowy tendrils stream behind him.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Rin suddenly trips on a rock and sprawls to the ground. "Ah!" Felix takes flight, landing in a protective position behind Rin, who desperately tries to right himself. (Hitari is probably much faster than him anyways, and would have caught up regardless. XD)

Hitari quickly catches up to you, almost trampling you (let's hope on accident). He snickers a little. "Wow, if I wanted to kill you right now, that'd be pretty easy."

He leans down, offering you a hand. "But. . .I don't want to do that quite yet. I'm curious." A few seconds pass, and he pulls his hand back. "Oh yeah, that'd. . .that'd probably hurt a lot."

Shiawase (accompanied by Kanashimi) skips through the trees at blinding speed, quickly coming to the felled trunks and the house. "A house. . .?" she mutters to herself. "The village here was completely destroyed, though. . ."

Maybe. . .someone lived, Kanashimi says. But. . .

Shiawase shakes her head. "It doesn't matter. This is where Itami was." She looks around. "But he's not here now. . ."

(bahaha lol)
Rin gets to his feet with bloody murder in his eyes. "Fine. Fire away." He walks over to one of the stumps from a large felled tree and sits down defiantly. Felix lands on his lap, spoiling some of the dramatic effect. The strange golden aura emanating from Rin contrasts dramatically with Hitari's shadow.
