The hole is at least these three things: dark, dry, and empty. Empty being the most important. . .

Shiawase flops on her back. "Now I'm bored again. . .oh, I wish Itami were still here. . ."

Her scythe folds up and vanishes in a poof of white sparks. "But it's just me and Kanashimi. On the bright side, though, they're good at keeping me company."

Well, that's what it seems at first. As you stare (*glare) where the voice was coming from, you can see a faint shimmer of greyish-blue light.

It flitters around anxiously.

O-oh. . .I. . .I'm sorry. . .

Yep, that's what's talking.

S-sorry. . .I'm not much to see. . .it. . .takes a lot of effort to appear. . .physically. . .I'm Kanashimi. . .

He closes the door behind you walks over to the pot hanging in the fire, stirring what you can assume are the potatoes (don't worry, with a spoon, not his bare hands).

"You know, I don't know why, but. . .Itami can't enter this house without a body," Hitari says, glancing at you. "If you were me, would. . .would you ever go outside?"

Rin blinks a little, startled. "Really? I mean, if I could avoid it, I'd stay inside, but what kind of life would that be? Just.... staying here, inside for your entire life.... that'd be awful."

I just. . .wanted to see if you were okay, Kanashimi says meekly. You seemed. . .mad. . .
